While I was at it, I checked out your Wattpad-- looks good!!!!!

How do you balance your online presence between Wattpad, your own blog, the FF writing contest, and others I'm not aware of?  Do you switch up the content?

I've just added shorts periodically to my facebook notes, but that's about it.

Hmm. I've actually neglected it a bit, but basically, I've been taking the F-F stories I write (which I'd be doing anyway!) and putting those up on my own blog (1500wordstories) and on Wattpad. Timing varies, as I don't always have time to put up new content, or I'm too lazy. :p But you can paste the same thing into both Wordpress and Wattpad and it just works.

I have another blog (TalesoftheFive) where I post excerpts specifically from my fantasy books (the initial chapters) as the Wordpress format is *much* nicer looking, both on PC and on phone, than Amazon's "Look Inside" feature (which is kind of ugly). And then I occasionally blog about VR or writing on my personal blog, Gamewords.

But honestly, I have no specific timeline for content. I write a new blog post when something inspires me (sometimes not for months), put the content I've already made for the F-F contest on Wordpress and Wattpad when I get spare time, and ... that's about it! So it's not a huge time sink.

Not sure if that means anything, gennerik. I think it might just be a regular Wattpad user collecting stories. There's no sign it's specific to the contest.

Update! The winners were supposed to be announced yesterday, but as it turns out, they got so many entries (surprise!) that they are still winnowing them down.

Hey Magicians fans! A huge thanks to everyone who submitted entries into our #BattleTheBeast contest. Due to the overwhelming amount of amazing entries we received, the judging panel is still reviewing entries, and will have our top 10 finalists selected soon! Finalists will be notified via direct message on Wattpad, so keep your eyes out for a message from us!

Either way, we should hear in a few days. If your story gets selected, you'll get a DM on Wattpad.

Man that'd be nice wouldn't it? But I think they said they were going to DM the folks who were finalists, and I didn't get a DM, so I'm assuming my story didn't make the final cut. Fortunately, I'm not too disappointed, as I never actually thought I'd place regardless. Too many stories out there. :0

No DM here, either.  I'm interested to read the stories that were selected.

Me, too.  Oh well.

Not to hate on things too much (maybe a little jealousy, I'm willing to concede it), but a good half of those stories didn't really speak to me.  I guess they spoke to others, but I thought some of them were boring, and others were good, but didn't strike me as great.  There ended up being three that I really liked, and two others that were really good.  Truthfully, I think these three were better than my own entry, so I'm hoping that one of the three wins it all.

For the others that entered the contest or followed along, do you have any opinions?
