A few of my aspiring author friends and I set up our own blog, based on the model of Magical Words:

That sounds like a really cool idea. I'm not a big blog reader but I'll check it out.

I did post this in the Scott Lynch thread but it fits here too.

Scott launched a new blog at the beginning of August - Lynch Industries will now be the primary outlet for his "musings" and news. The Livejournal account will remain live.
To have an idea is not enough - no matter how good the idea is.

I'd like to recommend Juliet McKenna's blog.  Interesting mix of things - her books and the thinking behind them, going to Conventions, some of the ins-and-outs of being a published writer.

Also recommend her books - well written fantasy with good historical background.

Chuck Wendig's blog, "Terrible Minds" is a constant slab of sweary brilliance.

My blog is less sweary and slightly less brilliant, but it's friendly.  I post bits of WIP, writing advice, reviews and sometimes I just bimble on about whatever's in my head.

My blog:

I talk about my novels and games and generally make an ass of myself. What more do you want from a blog?

http://www.paksworld.com/blog/ Elizabeth Moon's blog is an interesting look at the frustrations and joys of writing. I certainly enjoy following it.

Rothfuss posts some really interesting and often insightful stuff. He also has his own charity which makes him a pretty awesome guy. He does post about his toddler though, but I find that kinda cute.

I also like http://jimbutcher.livejournal.com

He is free with information about what he is writing, which i find refreshing.

I also, like Abercrombie's but that's been mentioned.

I guess I'm an author now so...

I post about writing, being a writer, books, music and very occasionally video games. It's kind of a scrap book of what is in my head on any given week.

Come and say 'Hi'.
