Books/resources on werewolves & mythic dogs
« on: November 27, 2018, 11:16:16 PM »

Any recommendations for good books or other resources on the history and folklore surrounding werewolves and other kinds of mythic dogs? Could be straight historical folklore stuff or right up to modern representations in fiction and movies.

...strictly for research purposes. I haven't been bitten or anything, honest.

I bumped into a reference to the famous “Golden Bough”  ok of mythology and legends.
Here is one interesting link. Not exactly what you’re looking for, but...

Thanks, I like the idea of the rushing corn happening because there is a wolf hiding there. There might be something in that :-)

Modern Representations only alas

Dog Soldiers - I guess there's a good chance you've seen it, but if you haven't, do so.

Werewolf the Apocalypse & Werewolf the Forsaken - You can probably get copies of the old rulebooks for this pretty cheap and they are chock block full of modern takes on Werewolves. They've also got some decent reference sections too.

Cool - thanks!  ;D

I have seen Dog Soldiers (it's great!) but hadn't heard of the others. I'll check them oot. Have you played them?
