Winners Medals
« on: May 28, 2015, 04:18:05 PM »
I'm a member of a cartography forum which hosts a couple of monthly mapping competitions, similar to the writing contest on here. One nice little feature is that winners get a small gold or silver compass icon next to all of their posts to show they've won a contest (gold = full challenge, silver = lite challenge, since they have two difficulty levels), as you can see in the screenshot below.

I was just thinking it'd be awesome to have something like that on here, and found a thread where people who use the same forum as F-F are helping each other install an awards system... Any chance at all that this could happen? I'd be happy to make an icon for it if that helps!  :P

Not sure. That's something Overlord would have to implement, nothing a mere mod like me can do. ;)

Okay cool, thought that might be the case. Guess it could be added to the bottom of his list then...  :P

Exactly. He's always incredibly busy and I'm not sure if something minor like this would even make the first 50 points on his list. ;)

With the Popularity of the monthly contest shooting up,I think it be nice to do something for ones who come second and third from a group of 20 stories you could have Gold,Silver,Bronze medals or maybe Goat,Dragon,Wolf medals  ;D

The only issue I have with that is that there tends to be a lot of draws in 2nd/3rd place. So we'd probably need to find some kind of tiebreaker.

In the last few months there have only been two or three 2nd or 3rd at most, so not that big a deal imo. Could just keep it to winners and runners up though I guess.

Is a Dragon an animal or a Reptile? also I just thought of this but do you think Knights have the same problem with Dragons as we do with pigeons and cars  :)

I think you mean "Is a dragon a mammal or a reptile?", right? Since a reptile is a type of animal...  ;D

Pretty sure they'd be classed as reptiles, but of course since they're mythical they could be anything.  :P

Definitely:

   Wolf

   ;D
In terms of size:
   Dragon
   Wolf
   Goat

In terms of magicalness:
   Dragon
   Wolf
   Goat

In terms of awesomeness:
   Dragon
   Wolf
   Goat

...which brings me to my question: according to what criteria were you ranking them?  :o
