@Lanko a little part of my soul shrivels and dies every time I see that picture of Jen Lawrence holding a bow.
Note the idiot grip complete with the intention of shredding her left hand forefinger should she loose. The right hand on the string clamping the nock will ensure she wont hit a moose nevermind a squirrel. The back quiver is a great way of scattering arrows through the forest but almost impossible to use. I can only think that the armourer on the film hadn't a clue or she ignored all instruction in the noble art of Toxophilly.

just for you, rostum.

basically, it could be worse.  she could be like hawkeye in the avengers.

Didn't watch the movies, but that sounds terrible. I'm interested in the quiver though. I guess it's pretty much a classical thing to portray archers with back quivers, but how it is correctly used in a forest or when moving?

On the books, I was totally "what the hell" when I read that passage that says she consistently shoots dozens of these very small, very fast, pretty much always moving animals in their tiny little eyes from dozens or hundreds of meters away to preserve the pelts for more money.
Slow and steady wins the race.
