Do you remember the poster who kept resurrecting old threads for new people to read.

Who is that?

Kallor shrugged. 'I've walked this land when the T'lan Imass were but children. I've commanded armies a hundred thousand strong. I've spread the fire of my wrath across entire continents, and sat alone upon tall thrones. Do you grasp the meaning of this?'

'Yes' said Caladan Brood. 'You never learn'

Yes, I think about her a lot.
I hope it's just a case of real life getting busy, as she stopped posting reviews a few months ago on her blog too

Even the people who posted on the last pages from 2018 weren't really active on the site anymore. People do come and go, huh?

I think Arry is running and/or playing soccer again and that ate up the forum time. She's still posting in r/fantasy, so at least she didn't stop reading fantasy. :)

Ah, thanks for thinking of me :) I do miss the forum, but just, yeah, real life has made me cut back on so many things. I keep hoping that one of these days I will start managing to find some more time again

I think Arry is running and/or playing soccer again and that ate up the forum time. She's still posting in r/fantasy, so at least she didn't stop reading fantasy. :)

Unfortunately, just about everything in here is no longer true. I completely messed up my knee playing soccer and the dr. has tried pretty much everything short of a knee replacement. Definitely won't be playing soccer again, and won't be able to run again without a new knee. And just for added fun, also sprained my ankle pretty bad and broke my foot right about the time my knee got well enough to walk more than a mile on it. Awesome year. I am evidently meant to just live in a bubble :D But all in all, not too bad, just frustrating.

And I did stop reading fantasy for a bit (about the time my reviews stopped). I actually wasnt reading at all, but have been making the time to start reading again, I've read probably 6 books in the last couple of weeks, but none of them are genre. I think I started getting stressed about which book I had for review to read next, and started feeling like reading was less for fun and more stress to try to keep up with. My first step was to just read things that are not at all things I would review or post about, then move into genre books again, reading what I want instead of what I think I *should* read. I also found when my stress level got really high, I found I was avoiding my typical dark books that are my usual "must read"s. Will see how it goes.

Yes, @Arry; feeling obligated and stressed about our hobbies is no way to enjoy them.

Meanwhile, my godawful year was May18 thru MAY19. I’m enjoying a respite from life sticks and stones. I hope that’s this year for you, now.

Arry, so nice to hear from you!
I'm sorry about all those things and I hope you find a nice feeling about things again :)

@Arry you wisdom and knowledge is missed. I hope you can get back into reading if not sport and find time to enjoy it even if you no longer review and post here.

Sorry to hear, @Arry! I can totally see how reading for reviews may suck all the fun out of it...
