Welcome! Glad to have you on the site :)

I'd point you to the book club, but I know you've already found it. ;)

Hope to see you around in some of the discussions :)

Hi Everybody!

I'm Larry

Larry was taken so I went with Murgen. I am a huge Glen Cook fan. Black Company and Garrett PI are fantastic. I found my way here by twitter. I'm @LarryBizkit on twitter.

I have been reading Sci Fi and Fantasy for over 15 years now. Lately, I haven't been able to read books lately as I have a 9 month old son. I haven't found enough time in the day for books so I have been reading a ton of comic books. Comics give me similar adventure without the time commitment. I'm looking forward to getting in on some discussions when I can!

Welcome!! :) I remember well trying to read (or do anything!) With a baby, good luck with that ;)

Also, just realised this thread is even here! (Am on Tapatalk & its hidden)
So a late hi from me too. :)

MODS: as this is running to 53 pages now is there any chance we could have some kind of index so we can go to individuals introduction?

I dont think we have any way to do that. For users that posted an Introduction for themselves, it would liable be one of their first posts, so the easiest way to find it (that I know of) would be to view the user's profile. From their, view all of their Posts, and then page to the earliest posts they made. Not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for, but that's the best answer I can think of :)

Hi All {waving} I'm Linda Bell Brighton.

Like so many, I've been playing at writing all my life & decided a few years back to get serious.

The 1st in my historical fantasy series, Sidonia the Sorceress, Wolgast Castle, will be coming out next month. It takes place in 1560 Germany (Holy Roman Empire) during the Witch Burning times

The 2 book of this series is written. I just have to change it to 1st person. The 3rd is partly planned & needs more research. Maybe traveling to (what us now) Poland.  :D

I have a second series, current day thriller, Sidonia as reincarnated Sandra. The 1st book is fleshing itself out.

All so much fun!

Hello! I'm not technically new, it's more that I've been away for ages and come back... so I thought I'd pop in here again and wave a bit  ;D

Saying hi!

I think I heard about this place on Twitter and have been reading some of the summaries of interesting topics but haven't yet joined the forums!

I am a lifelong fantasy reader and started writing stuff serially a few years ago.   I also paint/draw myself and turn out for fandom conventions (mostly anime).
(If I set up my sig right all the links appear below if you're that curious.)

One of the downsides of taking up writing actively is that it means less time to read and less time to paint.  Other than fantasy I enjoy suspense, mysteries, romance, and period works .

I'm looking forward to reading a lot of threads on crafting fantasy and also on finding readers!

Welcome sgl!
Glad you found the site, and hope you enjoy it here! Definitely sounds like you should check out the Writers Corner in addition to the book discussions :)

Hi, I'm another newbie and another indy author! This looks like a great forum. I'm doing some dabbling in fantasy forums, looking for a community of other writers and readers to be at home with. I like epic fantasy the best, RJ, Robin Hobb, GRRM, Tad Williams, Brandon Sanderson but I'll read just about anything. I also want to find other indy authors who write epic fantasy (and other kinds too) and share the trials and joys of writing/publishing.

Since I'm new to forums and they can be kind of overwhelming, I'd like to ask anyone who has time to respond, what do you find the most useful/engaging/fun about this forum (or forums in general)? Where is the best place to start conversing (ha ha, after this thread, that is).

He there. Glad to have you, selah. (Or some shorter nickname.) :)

What's the most fun on this forum? Well besides the run-down tavern and Peter V. Brett fans going crazy, I can't really tell you what's the most fun to do on this forum. Then I'd have to kill you. ;)

Nah, I really like the Fantasy Book Discussion Threads, up at the top on the Main Board. Hop over there for anything fantasy related. And don't forget: Have fun everywhere; as long as you're crazy we'll accept you. :)
