Evening! I was just thinking on the way home from work, that I wished that there was a forum where I could indulge my book obsession on a forum that wasn't dedicated to one author... then I remembered that I'd signed up here after following the twitter account...  ::)

So, I'm Cherie, and I'm the wrong side of 21. Currently residing in Cambridgeshire. I've always been 'into' fantasy since I read the Hobbit at the age of 8, and have been reading it ever since. I've got a little sidetracked by Urban Fantasy the last few years, but I'm veering back away from it these days. I've still got a few 'must buy' UF authors but recent reads have been Patrick Rothfuss and Brent Weeks, plus a few others on my to read pile.

I've also currently got an unhealthy addiction to Subterranean Press books...  :-[

Hello,
hello,
hello.

Fancy meeting you here. Babe.

Sorry, I was just having a fantasy of sorts.

I'm one of the co-hosts of the Adventures In SciFi Publishing podcast, and I'm glad I finally made it over here. I've been admiring this site from afar for some time. I'm also a new author, and I'm having tons of fun with that.

It's great to be here.
"In THE NINTH WIND, Moses Siregar takes readers to a fascinating new world where politics, magic, and adventure mingle in exciting and profound ways. If you like fantasy, you'll love this!"

Mat Nastos here. I've been following Fantasy Faction on Twitter for last couple of weeks and have decided to dive head-first into the forum. Fantasy, Sci Fi and horror are my passions. I've even made my living from them for most of the past 14 years: first as a comic book artist (Elfquest, Spider-man, Superman), then a storyboard artist, and then writer/director for film/tv (8 horror flicks for SyFy/Cinemax, various cartoons for Disney, including Emperor's New School and Phineas & Ferb). Now, I'm taking time off to do some prose writing.

I was really excited to find a cool, laid back forum full of people who share that passion.

You think we're cool?! We're cool?! I love being cool. What do I do?! This changes everything.

(Oops. There went "laid back".)

Hello,

My name is Scott, and my fiancĂ© found this site while looking for writing competitions for me to join.  I haven't been part of a forum community for several years now, but I may just fit in here better then the last, at least I hope so.  I'd like to get published someday although I really don't know if I'm good enough, and I know I fail miserably at the whole querying process.

I recently added Fantasy Faction to my RSS feeds and was intrigued by the Book Club idea, hence why I've joined the forums.

I've been writing music reviews for a couple of years and really enjoy playing with words. I'm now trying to branch out into other areas of writing and have started work on a fiction novel. It's purely for recreation purposes but I'm hoping to reach a decent standard by the time it's done!

Welcome Testwood!  Glad you found us!  Are you going to join the book club this month?  We actually have three books to choose from for September. :)

I am joining this month, yes. I've ordered 'Nights of Villjamur', just awaiting receipt of it now. Gutted I missed out on 'The Lies of Lock Lamora' month, I don't think I've enjoyed another book as much as that in the last couple of years.

My name's Mark by the way, I forgot to mention that in the original post!
