Not just new to this forum, new to ALL FORUMS
« on: April 06, 2017, 10:44:34 AM »

Hey forum folks!

I've never quite been able to idle properly on online forums and get involved in discussions. Yeah, maybe a Reddit post here or there but I really just lurk, read a thread on a topic I'm researching, and then move on. There's no personal achievement or stake in it. Instead of communicating with people, making friends, and socializing like a human being I spend too much time trying to prove I know how to use Mei's ice wall. I split my team less often then I split the opposing team, so I must be doing something right.

Now life has changed, the worm has turned. I have a reason to meet people online and make new friends. January 01, 2017 was the launch towards my new life goal. Trolling Brandon Sanderson.

I'm doin it! I'm writing an ebook! Another ebook! After this one!

If you like Brandon Sanderson, check it out. If not, check it out anyway! Comments and criticism are greatly appreciated. I'll be pimpin the ebook on this forum and others for eternity to come!

I love the crack about Sanderson leveling up!

Thanks for the kind welcome!  I'm reading some cool threads now.  Probably gonna start posting soon my annoying opinions on things other than Brandon Sanderson.  I'm actually more of an SF reader than a Fantasy reader, but some of the suggested reading I'm lookin' at here really skirts the boundaries of both! That's what brought me to Brandon Sanderson, anyway. The genre mix.

So are you a fan of Sanderson's? Or you hate him? I'm confused.

I'm totally a Sanderson fan. However I'm really interested in what some people hate about his writing, especially in Mistborn. Just because I like it doesn't mean it can't be torn apart and put under the lens of a million different backgrounds and opinions.

One of the things that makes me most curious is how Sanderson's religion affects his stories, for better or for worse. He's spoken about it in interviews, but there are certainly deeper aspects that he can't publicly discuss. Would he be an even better writer without the yoke of Mormonism in the future, even though it's helped shape his talent in the past?

I prefer to say constructive criticism then torn apart but that's me being over polite and British!

Anyway did you say who were you other four favourite fantasy authors to read? I make it easy pick five sci-fi and five fantasy favourites of yours, who doesn't love making lists!
I'm Saloninus, by the way. And I tell lies, from time to time. Which goes to prove the old rule; never entirely trust a man who talks about himself in the third person.
