I'm posting this at 1:15 in the night. I'm having one of those nights where everything seems to conspire against me being able to sleep. Noisy neighbours for a while there, noisy cats, an itch that just switches spots when scratched, weird attacks of heat, weird sensitivity to noise to the degree that I feel like Roderick Usher... and of course this all leads to immense frustration, which doesn't exactly help.

I've been trying to get to sleep for more than two hours now.

Fun fun fun.

Diet Coke why not go all fat with the chocolate and ice cream?

hehe because it just tastes far too sweet, it's not for the calories

After 4 hours of non-stop meetings, I'm now working from home.
I haven't attacked the ice cream or chocolate, but I went to the supermarket before and got the coke AND vanilla custard doughnuts ;D

Well, I've started my search for a backer for my little autism book. This whole thing is clearly not going to be simple, but today I've spoken to autism organisation down in Reykjavík, and a lady who works for the local board of education. Both are impressed with my idea and are willing to help promote it, but don't give out grants for this kind of stuff.
I then visited a power company that annually gives out grants for various local projects, including charity. The lady I spoke to was very interested, and we will be in contact in October, when grant season rolls around. Still, there's no guarantee I'll get a grant, nor that it will be big enough to cover the costs.

But this is just the opening volley. Tomorrow I'll look into further options, and next week I have an appointment with a woman whose function I don't know how to translate, but this is definitely her territory.

/\--points to his new forum title.

Can I just say how much this made me laugh?

Thanks to @Lady Ty for graciously offering to give up the title so I could snatch it up :P

Speaking of forum titles, can someone tell me what Valheru is?

Speaking of forum titles, can someone tell me what Valheru is?

In Raymond E Feist's Midkemia books, the Valheru are an ancient race of sociopathic demigods who liked to fly to other worlds on dragons and loot them. They've disappeared by the time of the books but their presence hangs heavy over the world and metaplot.

Not gonna lie, I was pretty geeked when I saw Valheru was my title, one of the cooler setting elements of the stuff I read as a kid. I wish Feist had done more with the crazy gonzo Moorcockian background floating around his worlds.

That reminds me that we should have a description for every forum title and where they are from. I only knew a few myself. (Seeker, Builder, Night Angel, Mistborn, Auror, those stuffs)

Inky
I think Inky wants the explanation behind each character, rather than the list.
The whole thread might have some of that, but there's nothing like the list.

I need something above Big Wee Hag ;D or maybe not, I'm quite happy being one 8)

Day #2 of seeking backers/sponsors. I spoke with a woman at the local merchant's cooperative (I think that's how to refer to it in English), and she very much liked my pitch. I also spoke with two regional bank managers, and they too liked the idea behind my autism book. One advised me that I'm not going to find one entity to back my book entirely, but getting small donations from multiple sources will be much easier.

I guess I better actually get around to writing this thing, so I'll see just how much printing will cost.

In other news, I've completed a short story, and it's currently passing through the meatgrinder of the first online magazine.
