My entry is entered. I hope no one objects to my revisiting the Clockwork Keep. It was a lovely place to visit again.

And the curse is broken!

I was quite pleased with this one... which, in my experience, is usually indicative of impending failure, but c'est la vie. At least it's a good start to the year, and one I hope to carry on in future months!

Hope you all enjoy.

Hello

I've just joined. Because I need to start writing again and this tickled me with an idea.
But I struggle with short stories, they become long, long epics eventually.

Thanks

Yay, welcome @idledragon27!
You still have 9 or 10 days left, plenty of time ;D

I'm not a writer, but I bet the writers here will tell you that this contest has helped them a lot, so it'll be the same for you.

Where are all the entries? O_o. Not that I don't love Gem's company, but let's turn this date into a party already! Go, go go people! :<.

I'm nearing the end of my poetic entry, but I've tied myself up with rhymes and meters. I should've stuck with prose.

I haven't gotten to it, but have resolved to start submitting stories again, regardless of free time. I still plan to get my entry in, though it may be down to the wire!

I'm still working on an entry, but in my quest to get it under the word limit, I feel the story has completely derailed. I'll keep poking at it for the time being, but as of right now I'd be just as happy not posting it as I would trying make something passable out of it. Kind of defeats the point of throwing your hat into the ring when you aren't at all happy with what you've created.

I have the story down and wrote tons of unsatisfactory prose. Can't find the voice for it, but still planning on making it in the last minute entries.

Alex wrote some poem lines that are on point and great in rhyme!
And so now I think it's time to direct our friend and poet fine,

I have something 80% written, but I've got visitors from out of town so I'm not sure I'll finish it in time.

PS @Alex Hormann if you like making up tons of poems, join our mostly dead poets society!

Gods, short stories are hard!

I look forward to all the other entries.

I had time to write! [dances around — sort of]
Story written, now need to edit and get Mrs. JMack’s review.

It was very satisfying to take a notion I had several years ago, and actually write it out.

We need two more entries!
That would get us to 11, and allow for 3 votes.
@Lanko?
@Nora?

You'll get one from me only if I'm allowed to submit on the first. I'm working every day and didn't manage to get enough word count in today to finish by tomorrow. If it closes on the 1st I might make it.
