All maths is mental and as for mathematicians...
Everything is not really made of numbers but that's how it is quantified.

I have nearly finished The Sane King by Matt Knott (one time forum dweller) and it's very good, if a little cliched.
Really good worldbuilding and story dialogue and motivation is weaker but competent.

Also finished Kings of the Wyld. The book has been compared to the Spinal Tap of fantasy. So I was disappointed that not a single bard choked to death on someone else's vomit, but apart from that a fun read and it's nice to see a signing off the back of the SPFBO.

Finished Red Sister last night and really enjoyed it, it is easily my favorite Lawrence book and probably the best book I have read in the past year or so (which considering how much I didn't read last year that may not be that high of compliment).  Eagerly waiting for the next book now to see where the story goes.

Not sure what I'm going to read next, I have several books on hold so probably will just wait for those rather than to find something else right now.

Funny you say that, you're not the first.
When I read Red Sister I said that was the Mark Lawrence book that people who didn't like the Broken Empire would love :)

There's a sequel to KotW due out this year, @Rostum, so maybe an unfortunate bard will choke to death in that one. I don't think they described the demise of all of Saga's many bards either.

Saga alluded to going through a lot of bards but were sufficiently vague about many of them. I enjoyed the book and will give Bloody Rose a go. Oh and KotW just won a stabby.

Its been a quite successful debut for Eames, hope its not a one off.

What's the SPFBO connection for Kings of the Wyld?

I've started Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I'm enjoying it so far, even if Kaz needs a slap. I'm slightly annoyed that I ended up having to buy it at full price. I was expecting to be able to borrow it from the library but both copies near me have been unavailable and I had a self-imposed deadline. Anyway, I like it enough so far that I don't begrudge it the money. I'm interested in reading the previous series now, too. I didn't realise it was the same world.

I finished Jemisin's The shadowed sun (Dreamblood 2), it was so good!!! @Eclipse, have you read that one too?

And then I realised I no longer have that many unread books at home anymore, and what I really wanted to read I haven't bought yet ::)
I'll probably start Justin Cronin's City of mirrors, the last in the trilogy - not that I remember much from the other books >:(

I read Wonder today for school. We are going to use it as a Guided Reading text. Quite excited about it - think the kids will love it and will lead to some great discussions.

I need to find time to read a fantasy book again!

Currently reading Anthony Ryan's The Waking Fire (72%). It's tightly-written, very fast-paced (good) and filled with awesome characters and action. So, pretty much my favorite kind of book.

If I had to describe it, I'd say it's Pirates of the Caribbean (the movie, not the ride) with ****ing dragons. Recommended.

You should seriously go into book marketing. Now I really want to read this.

I also need to get to Skyfarer. The way you've described it, it sounds amazing.
