Whom did you used to see a lot here, but not anymore?
« on: July 31, 2019, 04:17:32 AM »
Sorry for the longgg topic, hahah. Ever since I've joined this forum in like 2016 I've met a lot of people who I used to see a lot on here, but not anymore. I used to talk with @Lady Ty a lot, and had no idea where she had went off to for quite a while now. @Nora and @JMack used to post a lot too, and Nora came back once in a while nowadays. @The Gem Cutter I used to see really lot, he just pops in nowadays. There was the time when I was pretty new that we got to know @Ana Stephens and @CameronJohnston back before they published their books and became famous too, and they have gave some really great advice to me, both writing and non-writing related, which I truly appreciated. Also @Ryan Mueller, I had no idea if his book got famous or anything.

What about you? Whom did you used to see really often here but not anymore? (I'm sure Scarlet will have 10 massive tomes of her history here for us to read, heheh  ;D)

Edit: Apologies, Eclipse will probably have another 10 tomes ready too, haha.  :D

You forgot the original pirate RPG. The original pirate group (of which I and I believe @xiagan were both members) started a thread we called the fluff thread which we made at one point larger than the what are you reading thread.

Autumn is absent for a year and Bea is working very hard. We should value what we have. All cakes for Bea today ;D

Don't worry Bea, he only wants to provoke you/us. ;)

A2M was hosting the writing contest from June 2011 to August 2012 and Eclipse only saw the last five months of that.

So let's have a look at those:

April 2012 poetry: entries: 11 votes: 18
May 2012 roads: entries: 9 votes: 7
June 2012 deserts: entries: 2 votes: 2
July 2012 steampunk: entries: 6 votes: 12
August 2012 fairy tale: entries: 2 votes: 10

We are in a bit of a slump at the moment and we get better numbers than that (this year ranging between 11 and 4 entries) and at the peak (2016) we had 15-20 stories regularly per month with 22 the most (theme: Corpses in September).

Yeah, I haven't been around for a while. I've been going through a rough period in life. I haven't been writing much either (or reading much for that matter).

@Ryan Mueller, I'm sorry to hear that :( I hope things improve soon and you go back to doing what you like.

I used to talk with @Lady Ty a lot, and had no idea where she had went off to for quite a while now.

Hello Inks, waving from Australia where it was an unbelievable -1C this morning, while everyone in UK is being sunfried. I still lurk and try to keep up, but RL intrudes and takes a lot of organising, plus eyes and claws of this very Ancient Dragon Duchess do not always obey her wishes. Send more gold and jewels for my hoard, please. ;D very happy to read about your translating talents being appreciated, congratulations.

Which reminds me, @tebakutis overjoyed to hear your books will be on audible, because I cannot read pages of print anymore. I fall asleep in audible too, but can always go back to where I started.  ::) Please make sure to post full details here and link my name in so I can listen as soon as it is available.

Yay, the summon worked! Glad to have you back here again, Lady Ty!  :D  Best wishes for your good health and that your claws will always be sharp and that your eyes will be sharper. You could have all the imaginary hoards of treasure I've ever thought about, hahah.  :D

And if you like to listen to audibles, well, I have a short story that was put into audio by a guy I happened to know on a writing blog here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeTKCaXpgL4&t=1s. It's a horror story, not sure if you'll enjoy it or not but you could probably open it to the kids and scared them into staying awake all night!  ;D

Is there an audiobook to put the kids into sleep instead of keeping them awake? ;D

Thank you for the kind wishes, Inks,  look forward to the amazing imaginary treasure. Also very appreciative of link to a new exciting audible. Glad you warned me about content, will look forward to listening later today, definitely not when it is dark outside.
