Title: Ummmmmmm
Post by: J.R. Darewood on April 16, 2017, 07:34:55 AM

So has anyone here actually accidentally stripped the *bit* on an electric screwdriver?  I didn't even know that was possible.

(now you know how I'm spending my saturday night...)

I have not, but if you mean the part where the handle accepts the screw-driver attachment's base, you're likely up a creek. Hopefully, a quick call to Lowe's will prove me terribly wrong. I hope so.

hahahahahaahahahahaah

@The Gem Cutter the metal of the screw was harder than the metal of the screwdriver and little shavings just came off until now the screwdriver head is like completely transformed.

Replacement Bits are cheap enough. Sounded as though you had stripped the clutch on the driver which is 'a throw it away and get another' sort of problem.

Yeah, a good tip will be forged steel and shouldn't wear like that.

However cheap Chinese steel ones do with alarming regularity.
