I'm sick of corrupt people in and around government and I'm sick of the fact that we keep letting them get away with it when there are plenty of lamp posts in Westminster that we could hang them from.

These days, I would include pretty much all mainstream news. The other day I looked at the list of headlines on Sky News, every single one involved a murder or war, or something horrible happening. The thing is, bad shit does happen but why is it headline news when one person dies in a 'sensational' way, yet not when another just dies?

We're all such happy and content people. This thread could easily transform into the Fantasy Faction Christmas Charity Single!

I have often been heard to say that anyone even wanting to become an MP should be shot before they get the chance. It would save a lot of time.

(More seriously, lots go in with the good intentions and then...yeah, that power corrupting thing. *sigh* What if we used the Douglas Adams method for ruling the universe?)

I am just sick of the fact I'm not allowed to throttle any customers. Some of them deserve it!

Most of our customers are lovely, polite people, but some people need a slap. I only had one stinker today though, which is a pretty good ratio, so I'm happy. :)

On a more serious note, I hate slow walking packs on the pavement!! Or when two people walk slowly side-by-side but somehow manage to take up the entire path. Then you have to awkwardly squeeze past like you're the inconsiderate one....
There's a song by a German indie rock band (Tocotronic) called "Gehen die Leute auf der Straße eigentlich absichtlich so langsam?" (Something like: Are the people on the street walking slow on purpose?) The whole song is rant about slow people on the pavement. It's awesome.

What if we used the Douglas Adams method for ruling the universe?
It's a good idea - on the other hand, there were the same kind of problems throughout the galaxy that we have, so it probably didn't help much...

I'm really lucky, I may have about one a**hole customer a week. Or maybe I'm just too tolerant... ;)

Can we swap jobs?

I posted this somewhere else a while back - all real incidents (and not that far apart either, most of them have happen many, many times...)

Quote
If you stagger into my shop asking to 'borrow' merchandise, do not be surprised if I say no. The likelihood of me saying no is greatly increased if you have cocaine in a line from your nostril, over your lip and across your chin. As is the likelihood of me telling you to sling your hook.

When I am standing under a sign saying 'If you look under 25, do not be offended if asked for ID' and you look under 25....do not have strop because 'I'm 19, I shouldn't have to be ID'd, why does everyone ask for ID?' You might find it easier to be served fags/booze if you bother to take ID if you know you're going to be asked.

It does not matter how much you bribe me, I can't sell you want I don't have.

If, when challenged for ID, you reply 'I don't have any, but I'm 17, honest' you should not be surprised when I refuse to serve you because the legal age for fags is 18.

Given that the on the spot fine for serving under agers with booze is a minimum of £80 and I could lose my job, a tenner isn't a very tempting bribe to ignore lack of ID.

Hiding the porn mag in Woman's Weekly doesn't mean I won't see it. No, I don't believe it's for your mother.

If you are wearing your secondary school uniform, including tie, I will not serve you fags/booze, even if you do have fake ID.

If your eyes are like pissholes in the snow, you can't speak properly and you stink of weed, I will take this opportunity to flog you lots of chocolate.

Tramps, please note; the staff prefer it if you take the tenner from the pocket you haven't recently pissed in.

Yes, I can see you put that bottle of Vodka under your shirt, because that shirt is skin tight. Not to mention the bottle displaces your boobs out of said top and into the fresh air.

If you can pinch more than twelve inches, please, for the love of all that is holy, do not expose your muffin top.

We serve food and the sign clearly states no dogs but guide dogs. The fact that there is another dog outside that's 'bigger than my dog' is not a legitimate reason to bring your dog inside.

People who leave their trolley in the middle of a supermarket aisle with no thought for other people.

People who stop dead in their tracks on the pavement to take a photo or text.

People who call me and try and sell me stuff.

People who knock on my door. Unless I know you or you are delivering me something, go away. You probably don't really want to see me in my pants anyway.

So yeah, people annoy me!

Idiots. Plain and simple.

Saying that is just going to make more of them turn up, you never let the creepers know you're in your pants!

YES. This. But in my country, too. (US) And I'm sick of the shouting heads on TV making up excuses and lying and sensationalizing and confusing things. News isn't news any more, it's entertainment. And really bad entertainment at that. I try to get my news from Jon Stewart and PBS.

I'm rather tired of trying to type on a laptop with a fluffy cat on my lap.
