When my favorite shows are on a hiatus.

SMASH!!!!!

And yes, a show about a musical is among my favorites. xD
Smash is awesome, Jian. You have great taste in TV. I never knew anything about Katharine McPhee before I saw the show, then I discovered that she came runner up to someone I'd never heard of in American Idol some years back. Runner up? What the fluff? Something else that cheeses me off, the people that I really like on TV talent shows never ever win!

Amen to that!

And glad to hear someone else shares my like of Smash. I really cannot believe that Katherine McPhee didn't win. Preposterous! xD

If any of you all know the band Daughtry, the lead singer (Chris Daughtry), came 4th in that season. Some guy named Taylor Hicks won, and promptly did nothing else. He wasn't even that good.

Why the nerve. ;) I said from the beginning he was going to win. The rest of my family didn't believe me; they wanted Chris to win badly. And my guy did, but nothing happened. But that was back when I actually liked country music.

The United States Presidential Election.

Agreed. As a member of a third party, I find the behavior of both the Republican and Democrat parties absolutely disgraceful.

He's got my vote. xD

Sick of the wait between books! I want to read the followup books so badly right now. Especially the next book in the Lightbringer series.

If he wins, we get a PONY!    (No, seriously.   That's part of his platform)

Also yes, wait, though I think that can be added to.

When you wait for a book and the next one feels like a step down in quality. See Rothfuss, Patrick.

You said it.

When you wait for the next book, read it, and find out none of your favorite characters are in it. See Martin, George R.R.

Well.  Americans get a pony.    Vote Vermin, he'll turn America into anarchistic country where everyone rides ponies and has perfect teeth while working on time travel and zombie prevention.

When you don't get into the fantasy genre until 2010 and you spent the next two years just catching up with everyone else.

When you don't even get to reading 'till 2010 and you spend the next two years pretending you know whatever book everyone's talking about. (Well, I was 11, after all...)

Hmmm... I started reading the fantasy genre in 2010 as well. I dont feel anywhere near caught up. Well ... I think I am doing pretty well with anything written in the last 10 years ... but beyond that .... it's just one giant gaping hole.

Same here. Hope I don't get flogged for this (But I know I will :( ) but I honestly prefer the more modern fantasy to all the classic fantasy. Mistborn over LotR and First Law over Narnia and all that. xD

I still need to read the rest of Abercrombie as well as Brent Weeks, Myke Cole, Glen Cook, David Eddings, Robert Jordan, David Gemmell, Stephen Erikson, Kevin Hearne, Douglas Hulick, Anne Lyle, Jay Kristoff, Mark Lawrence, Greg Keyes, Lynn Flewelling,  Fritz Lieber, Anne McCaffery, Naomi Novik, Elizabeth Moon, Cherie Priest,  Scott Westerfield, Gene Wolfe, Robin Hobb and Roger Zelazny  and that's just the ones I can think of.
