Wish I could've slept longer. But Linus drank too much milk during the night, which resulted in him being really wet. While trying to change that he made him and me even wetter. So I did the logical thing and took him with me in the shower to make us both completely wet.
I hope he realized that I won this. ;)
Alas this made him fully awake at 5.30 am...

Welcome to the joys of parenthood! Having had a heavy hand in the uprising of my three much younger half siblings, I feel you. And 5.30 am ain't that bad. Wait until he can crawl out of his bed or gets fevers. Or teeth. Deuce, the teethings...

He crawls (even in his sleep and right over us), he has fevers and he has teeth, no worries, we have it all. ;)
He's ten and a half months old now.

OOOOH, Already??? Damn, I was stuck with a picture of you with a 2 months old in my head all this time!

edit -

Damn, my flatmate just kicked me out... I live in such a cool house... But my flatmate can't take it : I owe her 2$, used one of her towels, and am not cleaning enough or buying enough cans of oil for the flat... She also believes that I never empty the bin, because I never do it much when she's around.
Hell, I sure don't clean as often as she does but the rest is ludicrous, and comes as a total surprise.
It's the worst month to try and find a new place as well, and I've got so little money!
Now I'm anxious and dejected. What a great christmas present...

@Nora sent you a PM but just thought there may be student share houses needing extra  for a temporary place as they will have been going home for holidays. Or house sitting through an agency? Just first quick thoughts.

Update:

:)

Oh Nora, that sucks. Is she allowed to do this? And three days before Christmas? What a shitty person...
At least it's warm enough to sleep outside... :-/

@Nora, that's crap. No discussion? No notice? AndI take it you have no legal rights in this. Yrgh.

But, what exactly does it mean that you havn't bought enough tins of oil for the flat? For heating? Cooking?

Ugh @Nora, that sucks so much.
I'd say feel free to crash my place but it's a bit far, right?
Someone here have a closer place?

Did you pay rent for that flat? If so she can't just throw you out like that and has to give you at least some time to find a new place. (And it's just plain shit pulling something like that off in the holidays)

Just know we're thinking about you. And if there's anything we can do to make you feel better, just yell real loud here  ;)

Don't worry guys... I get a month to suss things out. Technically 3 weeks or I'll have to pay extra rent.
It just SUCKS that it has be disclosed to me 3 days before christmas. Everyone is away on holidays. A lot of moving dates would force me to stay in a backpacker for a few days.
But I'm not a traveler, I have a carload of stuff with me, including my street-found mattress.

Damn. It just pisses me off and makes me feel so damn stupid and lonely.

Her argument is that she just "doesn't get on with me", and that it's her house. She sees me maybe twice a day for 10min tops, and it's not her house, she's not even the one on the lease. How much of a best buddy copy pasta did she expect me to be?
It grates that her other argument is that I owe her 2$ - TWO - for house commodities. Coming from someone who never paid me back for my share of buys, and to whom I lent 10$ to buy booze when she was low on cash. 10$ I'm still waiting out for. I don't even want to remember the rest of her arguments, the smallness and disproportion of them all seemingly only designed to make the situation more ludicrous.

I was having a perfect chill day, saw Star Wars again, then bought myself and a friend a little x-mas present, in my case a new notebook (since I've run out of space already!) and a new ink-pen... Feeling inspired and motivated, I had a long sit down and wrote 8 notebook pages for my WIP. Was feeling elated and ready to re-write all this tonight and drop a bomb number on Lanko and his haunted thread... Barely had time to sit on my computer that the flatmate came delivering her news.
Spent all evening hunting down rooms instead... sent some 20ish mails and texts, got 3 solid visits scheduled over the xmas time, 3 more pending confirmation.

It's not that bad. I could always get something grungy. I've lived in rooms barely big enough for me to open the door past a queen bed. I just can't lower myself to room-sharing.

Aaaaah. It's such a pain. I'm so tired of this endless moving around. In one year in NZ I moved houses twice (since I lived in a hostel the 1st week). In 1 year and 4 months in Oz, I have moved accommodations EIGHT times. And each time knowing that soon enough my visa will run out, I'll have to sell everything and find a new country to live in.

I'm starting to think I'm taking these things with the wrong angle, and obviously need to rethink my approach. Either travel lighter and behave more like a backpacker, or find a real settling situation.

Think you need to seek advice at this point. In the Uk she would have no legal ability to do anything. I don't know how this would work in OZ.

If she is not the house owner or on the lease she could not legally sublet a room to you. Your agreement needs to be with a leaseholder if they are allowed to sublet or the owner for reasons of insurance and your legal protection.
If she is subletting or acting as a landlord without permission to do so both she and the owner could be legally exposed. Many years ago I was in a simular situation and it turned out the rental agreement was not only illegal but named the wrong person as the property owner probably for tax fraud purposes. I still wound up moving out but they refunded me nearly 18 months rent out of just over 2 years of me living there rather than me take them to small claims court over a loss I suffered at the hands of other tenents of theirs. Police were already involved at that point and had given me some pointers.

Oh I am on the lease. It's my first flat where I am official here. She is as well. But she doesn't manage the accounts, she's is now the main person... It's not "her house". Meaning that if she doesn't get on with the main lady who is running the accounts and has been here longest, she'd be the one needing to move out.
As it is she voiced her intention to kick me out to my other flatmate, with whom I get on fine, and she didn't object. Not sure she cares. She has her boyfriend visiting these days, she couldn't pay less attention to anything else.
There is nothing I can do. And at least it means I should have my bond back.
Since I am on a proper lease.

@Nora - So are you saying that she can't actually kick you out? I'm a little confused. Sorry to hear about your evil roommate, though. Sounds pretty extreme to kick someone out over...what was it...cleaning issues? There should be a better way to compromise.

@Saurus - my best friend tried your potato curry and she loved it! I think she really likes your site, which makes me happy. Last time her husband brought some free baking home for her, it had gluten and dairy and she couldn't have it. It's nice that now she has some recipes that work perfectly for her.

He's mobile. Prepare yourself. He will be walking in no time.

My youngest is 4 months old. He just rolled over for the first time last night.  8)
