Book cover is a pretty brunette, waist up, in a field of grain with magical emanations of various indiscernible kinds and origin.

Back cover blurb: "A woman driven to excel. A man ashamed of his past. A desire that could lead them to bliss... or peril."

FYI, from the first few chapters, it looks as though Queen Victoria is the baddie.  :)

I look forward to more updates!
Me too ;D
To be absolutely honest, I'd run a mile from a book with that cover and that blurb - but I want comments :o ;D

I'm making beetroot soup, a recipe from the NHS course. Anyone knows how to remove beetroot stains from your hands? ::)
(google is my friend: apparently by rubbing a raw potato (the inside bit, not the peel)

I AM GOING TO CHINA!

I am so excited.  I have had an awful year personally - and been struggling with anxiety, so have booked a holiday.  Some people buy shoes, I book holidays.  Probably why at 35 I still rent and don't have a car, but hey, when my life flashes before my eyes, it will be a long watch.

SO 25 DAY TOUR OF CHINA.

- Climb the Victoria Peak in Hong Kong
- See pandas in Chengdu
- Learn Kungfu in an orphanage in Shaolin
- See Chairman Mao’s summer house in stunning bamboo forests in Hangzhou
- Sip Champagne in a hot tub on the roof of a skyscraper in Shanghai
- See the Terracotta Warriors, an Ancient Wonder of the World, in Xian
- Bamboo raft down the Li River
- Camp on the Great Wall of China and watch the sun rise
- Stay over night with the Haka minority people in their mud roundhouses
- Visit the World’s Highest Bungee jump in Macau, the Las Vegas of the East

Off to the very-different-from-Mallory's but entertaining-looking King Arthur movie...

Yay, that sounds great! If you want something fitting to read, try to find "The Chronicles of Master Li and Number Ten Ox" somewhere. I guarantee you'll love it.

I just had a look for that.  Its a hard book to find!  And not on kindle at all as was planning to take kindle with me.  If anyone can find a reasonable priced copy of it, please PM me the link.

Also Panda conservation books?  I just had a search and slightly worryingly I can only find Panda erotica.

Not hard to find, actually, once you solve the riddle.  8)
Don't look for that book; look for the author.

Chronicles is a rare compendium edition. The individual books that comprise it are pretty easy to get.

Okay,  I found A Bridge of Birds and have bought.  Is that the first one?  And how many individual books are there for me to buy?

Bridge is the first, yes.
There are three, the second one is called The Story of the Stone and the third Eight Skilled Gentlemen.

Sounds like a fun adventure Nighteyes! Don't get killed by random people or anything. Especially erotic pandas. They're vicious when you cross them.

Nighteyes that is a wonderful idea, absolutely Carpe Diem at its best.  I hope the travel itself goes smoothly and every experience is important and fulfilling for you in all those different ways.  When do you leave ?
I imagine arguments being swallowed back, wine spit in glasses and gurgling up bottles. I imagine my ring sliding off my finger, Bobby's lips hot on mine for the first time again, and then unknown to me.
