I should imagine it seemed a good idea at the time. You've only got 2 weeks to go though, you can do it!

I just had a big "duh!" moment ::)

My parents wanted to do a skype video call, so here I am, on my laptop, I can see them but they can't see me. I test my camera, all blank. I check the settings, the drivers, etc. Nothing. All blank.
I give up and do the skype on my tablet, we chat.

Afterwards I return to my laptop, I've just restarted it, checked again.
Then suddenly...
I notice a little button over the camera that moves left and right: it was closed :-[

@Cherie we're back!

And calling some of the oldies: @m3mnoch , @ultamentkiller , @Doctor_Chill , @Idlewilder ...
Hey everyone! Good to see so many people that I know! I wasn't sure how high the turnover would be over the last few years. It appears I am one of the few deserters.

Hope all is well. I am in self-quarantine now because I've been exposed to someone with Corona. Still in college and everything like that. I haven't read much Fantasy lately, but I'm definitely reading more than I was a year ago, so that's good. Just started Wheel of Time a couple of months ago. I'm only on book two, but it's interesting so far.

Miss you guys.

Ya, ultament, so great to hear from you.
I hope you don't get it, or if you do, you just have mild symptoms.
Come and post, even if you're not reading much fantasy :)

Since we're all trapped at home anyway I just wanted to ask:

Anyone interested in reading my stuff and giving feedback? A couple of lovely people stepped up on the whatsapp page during the FF blackout, but I thought I'd check now that the forum is up again.

I'm working on a space opera novella, and yesterday I finished chapter two of five or six. I've also been sitting on a fantasy novella for a couple of years and I'm thinking of finally actually doing something with it. But some additional opinions on it first would be nice.

The 40 days before Easter. Traditionally, it’s a period of abstinence and prayer. This often turns into “giving up something for Lent.” Like chocolate, or TV, or alcohol. It’s a meaningful time for me as a Christian.

I still wish I hadn’t picked liquor.

Liquor is a dumb choice. You might as well choose food. Or coffee.

Well, technically that still leaves beer, right?

I got an email notification of this but still couldn't access the site until today! Hope everyone is doing okay and can make a serious dent in the TBRs over the next while.

Someone touched something other than the lamp in the Cave of Wonders, so I've been sent out to sort things out!  ;D

I've been gone awhile, so surely any bar-tab should be forgotten, I would hope. Anyways, I am back and will start checking in more often. Short version: I am well. One son infected with the dreaded virus. I have us on a war footing. Wife and son are stopping all work this week. Other sons on their own, but they're near and I will help them if they need it. I have a cat named Charlie who is very vocal and friendly and comes when I call him.

Hope you are all well in every sense of the word. Looking forward to hearing how you are all doing.

As long as it’s that zero alcohol content stuff, yeah. I assume it also includes communion wine, though?
I will expand your TBR pile.
