I cook for myself all the time, usually 4-5 meals worth.  Then I struggle to force myself to eat it because it's teeerrrrible and go to subway instead.

I love eating... errr I mean meeting strangers.

I've been doing modest yoga at home for about half a year now, focusing mostly on my immensely stiff hamstrings, as well as doing a quick morning routine to start the day. It was all VERY painful at the start, but it worked. I'm a good deal more flexible, and I've also noticed that my joints make far fewer cracking noises.

Really, I recommend it.

Oh man. I just got back from a three-hour cycling tour in the best weather we've had so far this year. I started with some minor errands, then ate lunch at a nice little hamburger joint. Then I cycled three kilometres down along the walking trail right by the edge of the fjord. I found myself a bench outside of town and sat down for a read. Then went back home, stopping for ice cream along the way.

You people who don't have seven months of chill don't know how precious this is.

I'm now going to head out again, pick up a sci-fi book at the post office, then sit down at an outside bar to work on some story ideas.

Goddamn, summer kicks ass.

Do you mean yours?
Poor you *hugs*

As for me, I need a bit of help.
My parents are coming to visit next week, and the airline called them yesterday to say that they had cancelled the return flight, and now they have to go home in the morning instead of the evening (about 8 hours earlier)!
It's really annoying, as it's basically a full day they'll be missing :(
I've been trying to look online to check if they're entitled to compensation, but most of the references only mention arriving later than the original time. I think I found something that mentions the replacement flight leaving earlier than 2 hours before, but it's a bit confusing. Anyone knows?

Tell them you are travelling and won't be able to make it back that earlier and ask them for next flight. Perhaps they can stay a bit longer. May work better than asking for a refund.

I did think about that, but the next flight is Wednesday morning (there's only 2, or now 1, per day) and I've got my hospital check-up then, I couldn't take them either to the airport or the train station.
Oh well, I'm seeing them again in September, I'm going over there then.

Can you get them an Uber or a Lyft? I taught my parents to use Lyft and I blew their minds. Now, every time my dad gets one on his own he calls me to tell me about it

I'm back and I can really recommend Chalkidiki, Greece. :)

Thanks, it was. (Who am I kidding, there were two little kids. It was great, but not relaxing. ;))

I feel you, but it's my mum's tablet and my dad's laptop...

There is a neighbourhood on the edge of town that was only built in the last few years. To a degree it is still under construction. And it is right on the edge of a forested walking area/bird sanctuary that also intersects with a horse-riding trail. It's my second favourite spot to go during good summer days, and is a good deal closer than my number one.

I went there this afternoon; specifically to the outer edge of the whole thing, where an overgrown picnic table is tucked away, used by no one. I sat down there, surrounded by forest, and began reading a new fantasy novel.

It was a great afternoon.

That sounds lovely, Eli. Between my work and family, my only hope of such a place is a deserted/quiet bar or a pub. Enjoy a beer and read my books in peace for a couple of hours before life interrupts.
