Come again?

And I've got a British sister now :D
(well, British and Portuguese, hehe)

Did she take up UK citizenship?   :)
Yep, the final ceremony was yesterday.

That's... strange to me, but okay.

And congratulations, Bea.

Yep, the final ceremony was yesterday.

I hope she took it up because she wanted to, rather than doing it just to make life easier in these uncertain times in the UK for EU nationals  ;) In any case, congratulations to your sister! I presume your nieces are all both Portuguese & UK nationals?

I thought they automatically had Portuguese citizenship through their mother :o Obviously wrong, then! That means that, except for your parents, you're now the only non-Brit?  ;D

Well, in a way it's automatic, in the sense that they don't have to "apply" - but she'd need to go to the consulate to register them and spend many, many hours waiting (she couldn't be bothered then, but will do it soon, of course)

I would say this is essential planning for anyone married to a UK National and particularly if children are involved. While cases are thankfully few there have been situations where parents have been separated from partners and children by bureaucracy while right to stay is determined. I don't think it will get to that stage with EU Nationals but until the political/geographical limbo is resolved I don't think it can hurt.

It does cost a bit of money, you have to have been here for at least five years, and it's still a deeply emotional decision ;) But yes, many people doing it to avoid any ensuing issues as March 29th approaches.

Anyway, look at this amazing picture of my village :D

The seller at the carpet shop just sent it to me, he had it as the computer background and I admired it!

I don't see anything. It's not an image you linked and if I paste the link in the address bar, I get an error...

Huh. I have now being doing home yoga for about three months, and just now I managed to touch my toes without bending my knees at all.

I mean, it was slow, difficult and painful, but I managed it.

@Nighteyes, we're still waiting for the photos ;)

I've just bought the plane ticket/booked hotel to go to the Algarve in September, I'm surprising my parents who will be there then!

Now I need to decide a place in Europe to go around June. I wanted to visit FF people, but I've visited Berlin just a couple of years ago, won't go visit @xiagan, and met @Henry Dale 4 years ago. I don't think there are more...
I'm undecided between going back to Amsterdam (after 18 years) or go to Munich. Or somewhere else... I like big cities with lots of museums, art galleries and a castle/palace or two, hehe (and I've been in almost all capitals already)

Well none of you wanted photos when I dressed as an Egyptian pharoah or a viking ...
