World Book Day is quite a recent thing, isn't it?

** love books ** ;D

And Eli, I don't think it will work... At least I don't know that many quotes

Happy #WorldBookDay  ;D I love that this is celebrated in the UK, and seeing the kids dressed up as characters from books. I never even knew about this until I moved here - in Portugal it's all about Carnival around this time of year, much prefer the book-related festivities  ;)

My school ruined it.  We have to dress up as a word. :(

At first I thought you said “dress up as a sword.” Which would have been cool.
But, sword is a word, isn’t it?

I'm with Jmack, *anything* is a word.
Unless you mean a literal word. As in W-O-R-D ???

I got a 5-day free pass for the local gym so I went swimming today at lunch time (the only time they had "length swimming" at the pool).

It was lovely, but I've been spending the afternoon just wanting to fall asleep, I feel so mellow ;D

@Nighteyes, we're still waiting for the photos ;)

I've just bought the plane ticket/booked hotel to go to the Algarve in September, I'm surprising my parents who will be there then!

Now I need to decide a place in Europe to go around June. I wanted to visit FF people, but I've visited Berlin just a couple of years ago, won't go visit @xiagan, and met @Henry Dale 4 years ago. I don't think there are more...
I'm undecided between going back to Amsterdam (after 18 years) or go to Munich. Or somewhere else... I like big cities with lots of museums, art galleries and a castle/palace or two, hehe (and I've been in almost all capitals already)

Four year anniversary of Terry Pratchett's death, today. Longing for more of his books and his wit in these troubled times. Sad to think how his brain turned against him in the end, Alzheimer is a horrid disease.

Nonetheless, focusing today on how his books changed my life and the lives of so many others. He may have been often overlooked by the literary world because of writing SF/F, but never by his readers.

Raising a glass to his memory tonight  :)

Well, I'm off to that dance class I was talking about the other day.

I have to admit I do have some reservations. It's entirely possible that it's too late in the day for me to have mental energy for it. I'm also inelegant enough that I'll consider it a minor victory if I manage to not break any limbs.

But if I never at least TRY something new I'll never experience anything new.

Good luck!

... well... bit of a false alarm. The minimum number for a class didn't show up, apparently due to some issues with Facebook. But I did at least get to meet the instructor and a few of the group, and get to know some basics about it all. Next week they're starting a new thing, so I'm coming in at a pretty handy time. The general vibe is very positive, which is a plus. Also, I'm the only male.
