Hey brits, you're not getting rid of me: I got my "Settled Status" this morning :D

Everybody said that there shouldn't be a problem, but you never know, I've had mistakes done in the past with the tax authorities (in different years, both asking me for money I didn't owe and trying to give me money I wasn't entitled to ::) )

Mine was a straightforward situation, I'm afraid for those more complicated cases.

Congrats!!!

I just finished my taxes.  They were pretty unpleasant.  I didn't make much last year and weirdly I owe more than ever (in part b/c of Trump, but mostly b/c of Obama.  I didn't have healthcare in 2018 (my unemployment was 50$ too high to qualify me for medi-Cal) and the penalty for not paying the corrupt insurance companies who have destroyed our healthcare system is either 695$ or 2% of your income, whichever is higher).  Anyway it looks like instead of getting a refund, I owe $850 this year.

I'm seeing @The Gem Cutter posting!
Are you back?
Are you going to start entering the monthly contest again?
Are you doing well?
 :)

And for those wondering, @JMack and @Lady Ty are ok, just busy with other things :)

I pop in once in awhile, but find I have run out of things to say - imagine that. Been busy and have a cold. But I am well - thanks for asking :)

Congratulations, Bea.

Unrelated to that, I've come across portions of a rock opera based on one of HP Lovecraft's stories. Can anyone recommend something similar? Because I really like this style:

@Eli_Freysson  You should check out Paul Shapera. He's got a bunch of rock Opera and other concept albums.  Steampunk,  Weird West and other crazy stuff.

I will. Thanks.

Unrelated to that... I'm in the middle of a deliberate ten-day break from sweets and pastries, and I can feel it affecting my mood...

Grrr.

EDIT: On the bright side I've discovered that dried mango slices make great candy.

Huh. I bought a new cat toy on a whim; a little plastic stick with some stuff on the end of it, to wave at them and make them chase around. One of them is EXTREMELY interested in it, and is currently making very dog-like growling noises as he plays with the stick by himself.

Warning: They do seem to make me awfully gassy.

Although I probably overindulged.

Eli, I think he means not eating sweets, rather than eating the mango slices ;)

Once a week I always get an evening where I get really REALLY sleepy around 9.30, with eyes closing, and having to go to bed 'right then' and just fall asleep. Can barely brush my teeth, even.
It's either Tuesdays or Thursdays, super regular, I really don't get this - silly body!

I went through a very annoying phase of waking up at 4:30 in the morning to pee. I could just about set my clock to it.
