One thing I've been meaning to ask: @m3mnoch, how are you? Are the fires near your area?
Every time I read some news about it I think about you, living in the middle of a forest/trees area :-\

My niece Abby lives in San Francisco (I have another niece near LA.)
She sent us a photo of the think smog enveloping the city.
They wear masks over their mouths, run an air purifier not stop, and try not to go out.

Seems there are fires everywhere, but J.R. and M3m are a ways south from the fire that's making all the smoke in SF and Sacramento. The Camp Fire (the one they're calling the most deadly in the state's history) is a bit north of Sacramento.

Yeah, the smoke has been pretty awful the last week. They've been handing out masks at work, which (kind of awful and kind of funny) required a subsequent email on how to properly use the masks.

I hadn't realised that you lived there too, Justan. Keep breathing :)

Ah yes, some say I'm a black hole of information. I let everything in, but nothing gets out.

Thanks, the air's getting better the last few days.  ;D

Do we have any native Dutch speakers here? I could use help with a little bit of dialogue.
I'll notify your next of kin... that you sucked!

Get a Go Bag assembled and have a plan. I can help you decide what to put in it if you want. Like a fire extinguisher - having one makes having one unneeded most of the time. Not having it invites irony. Murphy is a SOB.

Thanks, Gem. Between the fires and the earthquakes that's a good idea.

The Merry Minuet

They're rioting in Africa
They're starving in Spain
There's hurricanes in Florida
And Texas needs rain

The whole world is festering with unhappy souls
The french hate the Germans, the Germans hate the Poles
Italians hate Yugoslavs, South Africans hate the Dutch
And I don't like anybody very much!!

But we can be tranquil and thankful and proud
For man's been endowed with a mushroom-shaped cloud
And we know for certain that some lovely day
Someone will set the spark off
And we will all be blown away!!

They're rioting in Africa
There's strife in Iran
What nature doesn't so to us
Will be done by our fellow man

And meanwhile, we spoke to JMacksdotter yesterday from Norway for Thanksgiving.
She’s visiting Victor the Viking, whom she met in Italy last summer.
She looks like she is having just a little too much fun, considering Norway is very far from Maryland.

You sound just like my mother in law.

Anyway, I just made the mistake of sitting back down without more cold medication, so if someone could pop round and make me some, that'd be awesome.

That or smother me with a pillow. Either one does.

Poor Peat...
I can't feel sorry for you because it's 5.30 and I'm already at the airport, I had to wake up at 4.15, so if I can't sleep nobody can ;)

And yep, @JMack , like my parents too, hehe
Enjoy, and start preparing a place for his axe near the door - and don't ask about his war tattoos ;D
