Unrelated to blood:

My birthday is on this Sunday... and because of university I'm going to have to spend a chunk of the weekend reading portions of... Mein Kampf.

Woop de doo.

On the bright side, tomorrow I'm going to continue my recent birthday tradition: Go the nearby spa and get a shoulder massage in a hot tub while sipping a beer.

I was waiting for the beer part as soon as I saw the word “university”.  ;D

I'm not the best of cooks, but I do like to discover easy tasty recipes. I had a pack of cooked lentils at home and was trying to find a nice way to use them, and found this recipe for lentils with roasted beetroot, roasted onions and feta.
I did it yesterday and it's amazing, so yummy and healthy!
Well, today I had it with a Gregg's sausage roll, so the whole thing kinda drops on the healthy scale, hehe, but still...

I also got a "basic cookbook for pasta" today at the charity shop, I'll be trying a few things from there.

I need to know. What is the difference between beet root and beets?

I need to know. What is the difference between beet root and beets?
After googling, it seems it's another case of "americans, why do you need to be different? ::)"
(i.e. they're the same thing, hehe)

It’s called consistency  :P ;)
Ya’ll don’t say “potato root” or “carrot root”, right?

I say beterraba :P ;D
The 'root' doesn't really mean a root, it's beetroot one word 8)

Anyway, it went from Europe to America, so you should say it like we do, we had it first ;)

So, does anyone here know more about word processing than I do? Because a little ways into my new manuscript I suddenly realised that the apostrophes have changed. They've gone from the former to the latter:

’ '

I haven't fiddled with anything or made any changes.

Is one or the other considered more correct? And can I put things back the way they were?

I think that depends on the font and it might be part of the auto-correct feature in the options.

To be honest, that is still one of the things I don't fully understand the rules...

In Germany it's actually "Rote Beete" or "Rote Bete" So instead of Root it's Rot (Red). There are yellow beets and other coloured beets too, of course.

Lots of hugs for @ScarletBea:)
Everything I wrote above is pure conjecture. I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm a perfectionist but not very good at anything. That's why I rarely finish things.

I'm in a strange place where I feel I need stuff, but can't handle the comments back, about the c, you know.

And Rostum, what will happen to her ear when the squirrel decides he needs more nuts, eh? ;)
