It's a silly old world we live in.  :)

There's a convenience store close to where I live. Next to the automatic door is a sign that says "Please Do Not Feed the Cat". I've spotted, and petted, a cat outside right the store a few times, but assumed it was a coincidence and the sign was a joke.

Now I just got back from the store, and that same cat was just relaxing outside. I talked to the cashier about it, and she told me, no, the sign is there for a reason. It just doesn't return home if people feed it. The owner has had to come over to fetch the cat before going to bed. The cat used to enter and roam about, but they started keeping spray bottles on hand to drive it out. Heck, sometimes it sits down right in front of the automatic door and refuses to move, so people step over it.

I guess the cat is just there for a steady stream of head-petting.

Owner? Of a cat? That human slave needs to understand that the cat owns them. And the store.

Unrelated to store cats, are there any native German speakers here?

I would like a title for an in-universe book translated into German, and I don't trust Google Translate to not embarrass me.

I went and try out some archery the other day. Now I could safely say that real life archery is prettyyy (adds a million Ys) different from that thing Legolas do with his bow. Guess you would need to be an elf for that.

I ended up buying a dart board and being satisfied with that instead.  ;D

So... slightly odd question.

Does anyone have the biological knowledge to know if the blood of women and men would taste different?

I'm writing a vampire and I'm wondering whether to give her a preference.

No biological knowledge but I'm sure men and women smell different because of hormones, so if they drink directly from the source, the preference may be because of the smell and not necessarily of the taste of the blood.

Read up on mosquitoes and how they respond differently to different people. They leave Jmacksdotter and me pretty much alone, but drive Mrs, JMack and Jmacksson crazy.

Yeah I worked out decades back to stay close to the womenfolk around midges and mosquitoes Pheromones are a big attracter to insect bloodsuckers and the girls tend to be the meal of choice.

Diet is as likely to affect the taste of blood as anything else but I know nothing and must admit this being the first time I have thought about it.

Unrelated to blood:

My birthday is on this Sunday... and because of university I'm going to have to spend a chunk of the weekend reading portions of... Mein Kampf.

Woop de doo.

On the bright side, tomorrow I'm going to continue my recent birthday tradition: Go the nearby spa and get a shoulder massage in a hot tub while sipping a beer.
