It's not French Fries, it's not even Belgian Fries, it's called CHIPS.

Also Belgium = best international football team to not be a winning international football team.

But if fries are chips, are all chips chips?

I don't think anyone who honestly thinks crisps should be called chips can be taught...

I completely disagree when it comes to soccer and football. Soccer is football. American football should be called something else like, I don't know, Rugby?

Poker chips are round and flat.  So are potato chips.

You must have some crazy weird definition of flat. Don't think I've ever seen a flat crisp.

...and that's without considering the other types of crisp:

Obvious defining characteristics: they're made from potato, and they are crispy. Therefore, potato crisps.  8)

Déjà vu
For other uses, see Déjà vu (disambiguation).
Déjà vu, (Listeni/?de???? ?vu?/; French pronunciation: ?[de.?a.vy]) from French, literally "already seen", is the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced, has already been experienced in the past,.[1][2][3][4] Déjà vu is caused by erroneous familiarity and déjà vécu (the feeling of having "already lived through" something[5]) by erroneous recollection.[6]

Just saying.

Sorry UK think you only ones to have crisps - Potato Chips here, but from fish and chip shop we get just chips or fries.

But different kinds of rugby are all Football even though one is National Rugby League and there's Australian Football League as well which is another kind of rugby. :o :o :o Real Proper Football is Soccer, all too hard, if you really want to know more you'll have to ask Elfy.

 :o

What the heck are those things?

I don't really object to the use of "crisp" for potato chips.  I more object to the use of "chips" for baked-then-fried julienned potato.  Those are clearly french fries, or just fries.

Of course, pomme frite is an even more defensible name.  :)  But the spellcheck *really* doesn't like that -- it thinks I mean pommel trite.  Which sounds like something any tongue-in-cheek swashbuckling rogue ought to have on the bottom of his or her sword.

Wanted to post this before I forgot about it.

Just learned about this yesterday, and couldn't believe it at first. I love how they describe the emus like actual soldiers.
Anyway, back to food.

 lol that's awesome.

I had to quote this tidbit:
Quote
The machine-gunners' dreams of point blank fire into serried masses of Emus were soon dissipated. The Emu command had evidently ordered guerrilla tactics, and its unwieldy army soon split up into innumerable small units that made use of the military equipment uneconomic. A crestfallen field force therefore withdrew from the combat area after about a month.
