Didn't realize @CameronJohnston  was a published author. I must be blind and dumb having seen those books in his signature and still not making the connection. Duh!

Will read Traitor God this week....

Howdy, everyone. It’s been a long three months, but I’m finally past many things sad and wonderful. Ready for a wee bit of normal. Send me down a cider, barkeep.

Happy to see you back, JMack, wishing you peace and good health and hope you will be sailing in calmer waters again for a long time.  :)

Oh the days before the internet...
You wanted something, you went into a shop and asked for it.
Now you start looking online, reading reports, reviews, and getting thoroughly confused about it ::)

I want to buy a simple record player, to play my old vinyl records from my teenage years. I saw a couple of promotions on HMV yesterday at the shop, but checking online it seems the products are bad and will ruin my records: now I don't know if that's the opinion of music purists, or if that's true in general...

I am sure a HMV record player will play your old Bros vinyls fine.
When I eventually went back there, they only had the model I didn't like, a couple of the options were out of stock and another had gone back to being more expensive than I wanted to pay.
Today I bought one from John Lewis, basic-mid range - it'll arrive next week!

I will be able to play my albums from different eras (80s and 90s): Nik Kershaw, Wham, Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins, Wim Mertens... :D

I've been listening to a lot of Dead Can Dance at work recently - it soothes the urge to shout at people.

Happily today I'm not at work. Instead I'm busy editing, which means I'm working a lot harder than I otherwise would be...

Ooooh I didn't think anybody knew them!

I'm not working today either :D
I finished painting the shed, and then I went walking, up to the local landmark around here: it's just under 4km each way, although going there is always up!
I now have a little blister, drats >:(

Edit: I forgot to say I saw baby lambs on the way, they were on the field of a local farm :-*

I've never been a fan of running. Always get bored quick. The missus bulldozed lovingly signed me up for a half marathon last year which I reluctantly did, but she's considering one more in June now  :'(

Only saving grace is it happens in Glacier National Park, but then I really hate training again.

Can't a person get drunk and fat in peace nowadays?

Hehe how old are you?
I only started running in my 40s (I'm 49), and never did more than 5k. It's for fitness and health only, but I like to track my times.

Your run location sounds fab!! Funnily enough, I always thought you were Brit ;D

I'm 39, from India now living in NY. So more used to British English than the Yankee version.  8)

I got drunk the day before my last half marathon and ran with a slight daze all through. Managed to complete before they started pulling down the tents at finish line.... barely.

Now it all starts again.  :'(
