Well, I made the cookies... and I didn't like the result.

I was pretty disappointed, until just now when it dawned on me that I'd done the measurements wrong and used twice the recommended amount of sugar.

That explains a lot.

I'll try again on the weekend.

And on the bright side I now own a sweater that I made myself.

Well, I was show how to throughout.

It was all a bit of work, but now I know the basics, and I own the patterns and have adjusted them so there will be no need for adjustments the next time.

I had managed to reduce my unread books pile to just 2, a Malazan and an old one: today I managed to increase it to 8 ::)

I got the other 2 books in Tchaikovsky's Echoes of the fall trilogy, One word kill (the new Mark Lawrence), Ed McDonald's Blackwing, Madeline Miller's Circe and Andrew Caldecott's Wyntertide (book 2 in the Rotherweird trilogy).

Oh, the stress of wanting to read all of them *now*...

I guess I'll only read the Malazan after these 6, because then I want 2 of them in a row.

And on other news, I've got new glasses: they're scarlet ;D

Oh the days before the internet...
You wanted something, you went into a shop and asked for it.
Now you start looking online, reading reports, reviews, and getting thoroughly confused about it ::)

I want to buy a simple record player, to play my old vinyl records from my teenage years. I saw a couple of promotions on HMV yesterday at the shop, but checking online it seems the products are bad and will ruin my records: now I don't know if that's the opinion of music purists, or if that's true in general...

I am sure a HMV record player will play your old Bros vinyls fine.

;D Bros arrived already a bit later for me to really like them
I have them on my mixed tapes, though

And yes, I've been thinking and I think they'll do...
I'm really not a music person, I only have old stuff.

New game. What does @ScarletBea have on her old vinyls? Guesses as a post or on a postcard to the usual address.

Well, I took my second shot at baking those cocoa lengths, and this time I used a reasonable amount of sugar.

It worked! They're exactly as good as I remember!

I just got a sketch of my next cover image. I always have to mull them over for a while before forming an opinion. Can I get YOUR opinion, FF?

I'm not a fan of covers with people, so you don't want my opinion, hehe (even from authors I love...)
Sorry

Nice sketch. Is that Han Solo'esque character?

Hairstyle looks all wrong though. You need a crew cut or shoulder length wild hair. And where's the hat?

Yes, he's a space rogue type. And I was ambivalent about the hair at first, but I feel it's growing on me. Something about it makes him look more shady, I feel.

Why a hat, though? I can't think of any notable space rogue types who have worn hats. I did consider giving him a fedora to make him more distinctive, but along with the coat if felt too noir.
