Merry Christmas all! It isn't Xmas yet where I am but for those across the Atlantic from me, Merry Christmas!
I would rather look stupid today than be stupid tomorrow.

Eight tentacles done of my plush octopus. Now to stuff it and stitch up the head, then make a face. ^^

Everyone has snow but me :-\
Can you just entertain yourself, then?
I'm at home all this week - we work on 3 bank holidays during the year, then stay home until the new year :)

What work do you do, @Eclipse ?

I think you should resurrect and do research into police cold cases.  ;)

Today I've got more than just a sprinkle of snow outside... but I can't be bothered to get dressed properly and go outside to make a little snowman or something ::) ;D

The temperature is -17 °C right now. And while being outside in it is awful (I just got back from the swimming pool) I have to admit it has a strange appeal as well.

When it's this cold it's usually also perfectly still, so the air has a refreshing crispness to it. The snow beneath your shoes also crackles in a way I find oddly soothing.

I got confused and thought that @Eclipse had written this, and I was wondering at how it could be so cold in the mid/south west, and how brave he was to go to the pool ;D

But this comment reminded of when I was in Switzerland, and yes, I used to go swimming after work, and then the complex had a jacuzzi with very hot water outside, you just swam through a tunnel from the indoor pool, and it was lovely sitting there, with the dark sky and stars above, seeing snow but feeling warm.

It's been getting down to almost 50 degrees in LA and I refuse to leave my room at night, huddled by the space heater. I only go out in the day when it's back up to the 70s

Okay, I put that through Google's Celcius/Fahrenheit translator and... well... sorry but I'm not feeling very sympathetic.  :)

I rode back from my families place last night it was supposed to be two degrees. After Bristol there was freezing fog and black ice and when I got back to Gloucester it had snowed and frozen. I couldn't actually turn into the road I live on as it was a sheet of ice. I had to get off go home and get a back of salt to cut myself a path. Today when we were supposed to get strong winds and sub zero temperatures it is still, sunny and everything has melted.
