Somebody with the clout to do so should suggest (or better: initiate) that all the sane republicans that are left should split and form a third party...

Chin up Americans. At least you'll probably have a reasonable alternative come the next election.

I'll have a choice between:

A proven incompetent with a history of doing nothing, currently doing nothing to stop the country plunging towards the worst possible economic scenario, leading a party that hates her and that has a nasty Islamophobia problem

And

A proven incompetent with a history of doing nothing, currently doing nothing to stop the country plunging towards the worst possible economic scenario, leading a party that hates him and that has a nasty anti-Semitism problem

All really quite depressing.

I mean I'm also a proven incompetent with a history of nothing... but at least I'm not terribly prejudiced... so I guess I would indeed be the lesser evil.

Can you (or someone) please give us the implications and true significance?

I've read the news that Cohen admited to stuff, and said that it was done on Trump's orders, but I'm not really sure of what it all actually means, what the consequences are.

Those consequences depend entirely on who holds the majority in Congress after the mid-term elections
