I’m sure he can put up with all your disgusting horrible habits like folding book spines in half and throwing books and leaving them on the floor and drawing doddles in the novels and ripping the last page out of books and being a fan of Sanderson. He can totally put up with that for a few days we’ll maybe not the Sanderson ????

I got my keys today, I'm a home owner in the UK :D :D

I was out measuring the rooms, and now I'll play with a floor planner ;D

I thought I didn't have to change anything, but a proper look in the bedroom, at the wardrobe and carpet, made me realise I do need to change them... I went to the carpet shop this afternoon and all's set for fitting in 2 weeks, and now I'll play in the Ikea site to build my wardrobe hehe

Eventually I'll want to change the carpet in the other rooms and the stairs, but that's when I get my bonus next year hehe

Ohmygawd painting!
Some bits look ok, others not that much :-\ I hope it gets fixed on the second coat...
I did 2 walls today, tomorrow I have to come early and do the remaining (one's the big window), plus the second coat...
Any tips?

You can dilute paint about a quarter more thinly than it says on the tin, that helps it go on more easily and smoothly. British paints use to have an undercover/sealer/primer that is good if the original paint is really old and scuffed or marked. Also really helps get the next two coats on if you can be bothered.

Good luck, it is hard work but very satisfying when you see it the next day  ;D

You're right, it looked much better today! :D
I finished the room, got a second coat in and painted the skirting board! I'll go back tomorrow for a third coat on the bit that hadn't been painted before (by the previous owners), as that's slightly darker than the rest.

I also discovered many books I want to re-read as I was putting them back on thr shelves, hehe - and I haven't even got started on the fantasy ones ;)

Don’t be afraid of rich, darker wall colours. Mrs. JMack painted our computer room a rich winey red. Quite beautiful. Artwork really pops against that background.

I have one dark red wall in an apartment full of white walls, and I love it.

But I know nothing of domestic stuff

If you are looking for deep and rich colours these people are worth a look.

https://www.firedearth.com/paint real mineral paints and the depth of colour shows through. They also last well.

I painted my bedroom white.
The carpet will be light grey and the furniture is white.

Colour will be in my duvets and pillows, I've got all colourful stuff :D

Last one, I promise ;)

I AM IN MY NEW HOUSE FOR GOOD! :D :D

Gosh, I had *so much* to bring back, the "just bits and pieces" that hadn't been moved before :o The lady from the Rental Agency (who was there for the final inspection and get the keys) helped me take the ton of bags to the car, otherwise I'd be going up and down forever, hehe

Lots of stuff to do here now to get it tidy, but the first will be to assemble the bed ;D
