Okay, this isn't strictly speaking humour, and it's from a fantasy video game rather than a fantasy book, but video games and fantasy alike tend to be dismissed as shallow. But in either you can sometimes find conversations like this one:

When everyone are suddenly talking in essays, you know things are getting philosophical.  ;D

I just wanted to drop this funny little scene from Doctor Who:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77nGE6oZXOo

Man: They're bit a bit like facehuggers, aren't they?
The Doctor: Face... huggers?
Man: You know. Alien.
The Doctor: (Blank look)
Man: The horror movie, Alien.
The Doctor: There's a horror movie called "Alien"? That's really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Apparently I have never shared this gem here:

The Auralnauts Star Wars Saga.

A complete retelling of the Star Wars movies that starts as a story about a gang of drug addicted hooligans who have a reputation for wrecking every bar or concert they are visiting, which puts them at odds with Mister Palpatine, the owner of the Space Hooters chain. Things get more complicated when Anakin falls in love with Obi-Wan's girlfriend, Obi-Wan's is struggling with his addiction, and Mister Palpatine reaches out to Anakin to help him straighten out his life by offering him a job in management.
And they are settling their conflicts by dance battles and showing off the stereo systems of their starfighters. And there's a genocidal robot that philosophizes about the meaning of suffering.

And for some reason, it makes for a really compelling story with characters you can get invested in.
Spriggan's Den

So top cheap medical and dental services for all in US, Bradley?
'..all tapes left in a car for more than a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums....they listened to William Byrd's "We Are the Champions"" and Beethoven's "I Want to Break Free". Neither were as good as Vaughan Williams "Fat-Bottomed Girls".

haha, no I couldn't find a meme that captures how utterly abysmal and criminal the US healthcare system is (though out of all of Europe, I feel like the UK is heading our way the fastest). So I'll leave you with this instead:

Regarding the teeth tho, teeth are a class shibboleth in the Americas, consequently people here do put more effort into dental care even if it's not covered** (in Brazil and Colombia people even get braces just to show they can afford them.... go figure), where as in the UK... not.  When I've been in former UK colonies, it's hard to even find floss to buy. And I had a dentist (i forget where but I think it was in the UK)  tell me that flossing was a myth and unnecessary and I was aghast. I think we might have had the flossing debate on here at one point in time. So yeah there's that

**(side note, BECAUSE people often pay out of pocket for dental, the costs are way lower than other medical procedures, since insurance hasn't inflated all the prices)
