Bridgeburner at 500... sign of OCD?
« on: March 16, 2015, 01:02:12 PM »
My average posts per day is now creeping up in the 4s.
I check for unread posts each time my coffee runs out (too often).
I bemoan the departure of the Karma system (I was up to 33!)
I had no idea what a Mistborn was, so I had to read the books. (@Elfy thinks that may have seriously risked my brain)

Now, I have no idea what a Bridgeburner is, but you all have made my TBR pile so huge that I may depart this world without ever having cracked open Malazan.

These are all warning signs (nay, flaming beacons!) of a serious problem with priorities and a deep case of obsession  :o

But meanwhile,
I've made cool friends, including one great one now mainly conducted in out-of-forum emails.
Become a secret worshiper of the @Raptori who have come to our planet to study us.
Read awesome and funny story submissions.
Have goggled at the strange and brilliant mind that is @Yora. (Yes, that's goggled, not googled.)
Have written 5 stories for the monthly contest. (@xiagan, when do I get one of your prized possessions forum descriptor accolades?)
Have received challenging and encouraging critiques on my work; which has now lead to two re-starts, d*mn you all to the eternal flames.

And have been having a generally awesomely fun and interesting time interacting with everyone here.

Cheers to all for making F-F the place it is.  ;D
Thank you.

I'm pretty sure that well over 2/3rds of the time, when I load up the forum there have been no new posts since I last checked.  ???
I wish the world was flat like the old days, then I could travel just by folding a map.

Congratulations @Jmacyk!!!

Although I hate you (and some others) when I see how many new posts there are, by the time I (FINALLY) finish reading them I can't help but wonder how informative/funny/thought-provoking/[insert positive adjective] they are. Keep up the good work!  :)

I would give you karma, but sadly... nevermore.  :(
Everything I wrote above is pure conjecture. I don't know what I'm talking about.

I'm a perfectionist but not very good at anything. That's why I rarely finish things.

500 posts already? They grow up so fast.

And yet I don't see my name on there anywhere.

Nah, this is an amazing feat J-mack. (Obviously your rapper name, dawg.) You've been a great joy in this community as of late, and I completely understand the addiction that "unread threads" button is. All you have to do is keep on posting for us too lazy to follow through on our ideas.

Just think, when you get to my point, half of your posts won't be gibberish like mine! Keep up the good work Bridgeburner. Hope to see you around and stay a regular.

I might start my own thread so people can post in it and say nice things about me.

I shall call it "The Raptori Appreciation Thread".  8)

@ScarletBea insists the cake for Sara was pineapple only. I suspect otherwise.......

You have certainly brightened up these forums since you joined, and they were already a joyful place to begin with - at least since I first stepped unto these lands  ;)

I ended up thinking it was a mixture of both. I actually had to Google what spam was (the food, not the internet use for the word), since I had never heard about it in my life - maybe the fact that the Portuguese Wikipedia page has three lines (http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_%28alimento%29) about it explains my ignorance. It is definitely not a thing, here.
