And A Great Big Thank You
« on: January 03, 2017, 04:20:06 AM »
Just a thread for expressing gratitude for forum members who've made a difference, great or small.

Since my arrival here, literally from my very first post, I've benefited from a lot of ideas and discussions, critiques on parts of my novel, and a variety of discussions. The Venn diagram of people who've helped me directly and indirectly is literally a big, fat circle around the entire forum. My attempts to reciprocate continue.

But I want to acknowledge @Justan Henner , @Not Lu , and @D_Bates for really going to great lengths in providing substantive and voluminous feedback, terrific ideas & viable suggestions, and perhaps most valuable of all - encouragement!  Taking me and my novel seriously allows me to take them both less seriously, if that makes sense.

As I head into my first major revision, I have close to 50 pages of insight - which means that although the issue remains undecided, if I fail it won't be because I lacked insight or the benefits of honest, objective feedback. A truly priceless gift. So ... thank you very, very much. You made a big difference for me.

Now, if the tornado warning I just received doesn't erase me from the face of the planet, I'll begin the process of implementing and improving.  ;D

Well thanks. I'm glad the feedback has been of use.

I can't say I read enough books to make a top 10 of 2016 list, but of the 7-8 I managed to read, yours was the one I enjoyed most. I'm looking forward to buying a copy.

Sorry to be late to the game, but I didn't see the post until Justan pointed it out to me.

I just want to say that I really enjoyed your book as well. The personal story told in first person makes it a very close read. In addition, I love your prose and writing style.
