Author Topic: 24 hours - which Fantasy Character would you be? what would you do? why?  (Read 5806 times)

Offline Vaelin

We've all read fantasy books and we all have characters who we love and hate! We have characters who we would love to be friends with but which character would you love to be. You've got 24 hours to live and breath as this character.

So who would you be, what would you spend your time doing and why?

If I were to choose a character to spend time with, the answer would be easy: Tyrion Lannister.

Now, a character I would be... Maybe Gandalf. I would enjoy smoking some pipe, reading stuff, and deny passage to flaming Balrogs in Khazad-dûm. You know, just the usual.

Never has Gandalf sounded so Rock N Roll!

I have to choose Thursday Next, literary detective, visiting all the worlds/fantasy books I love ;D - why be restricted to one, hehe

And if I can choose 2, then I'd be Vin from the Mistborn series, I'd love to feel what a mistborn can do :D
I'd be going to lots of places quickly, "flying", maybe influence a few friends hehe

Mine is probably going to be a very weird choice as it would be Sinbad from the Arabian Nights.

I've always adored those tales and being able to spend 24 hours in Sinbad's shoes would be exciting, to say the least.

I think I'd be Wade Watts from Ready Player One. Love to visit and play in some of those virtual worlds that Wade ruled in while searching for the egg.
I will expand your TBR pile.

My first reaction was Vin, but she's been picked. Then I thought Syl would be pretty cool, but she's been picked, too. So, if it's only for 24 hours, I think I might be Sabetha. I think I could handle that murderous environment for that long, as long as it was a day in which I got to stitch Locke Lamora up good and proper, and he didn't have the chance to do the same to me!

^ you can be Vin in a different 24 hours from mine ;D

And I've just realised something: why are women picking women, and men picking men? There can't be a more hypothetical question that this, and yet we're restraining ourselves within invisible barriers...

I haven't put my choice in but when I initially thought of this, my first thought was Id like to be Vin. My second thought was then Durzo Blint. Still unsure who Id go for...

I did wonder about a man, but for one thing a lot of them seem to have a lot more potential for pain or death in fantasy, and I don't do pain. And I might pick a fictional crush, and that would just be weird. To say nothing of being a whole different thread. ;)

I considered  Daenerys Targaryen, Lady Galadriel and Hermione Granger. But ended up going with Gandalf, don't know why.

I think I would go with Harry Dresden.  Not that I want to get the crap kicked out of me and have my friends in danger all the time....I just really want to want to have some of Mac's beers to see if they are really as good as advertised.

On second thought, maybe I should just go with Mac so if they are really that good I might remember how to brew them!

A really big dragon.

Having a bit of trouble narrowing it down further than that.
