Short List Announced!

Today we announced part one of six of our short list picks! The remaining list will be revealed throughout the rest of this week. Plus we will be announcing the cover art towards the middle of the week! You can read all about it at the Fantasy Writing Contest website!

Just read the blog post on the Long List and want to say a big "thank you" to the judges on my part for deciding to post the list of folks still under consideration. For me, the disappointment of making it through early cuts but not the final cut is nothing to the ambiguity of never knowing where you stood in the process. And if I don't make it through even the first cut, well, the sooner the uncertainty is over, the better.
And now, back to hoping my name appears on the long list sometime this week...

Keep in mind if you didn't make the short list, that doesn't mean your story wasn't good. We had over 100 stories that we pulled for our long list. Getting down to 30 was really hard and getting it down to six is going to be even harder! :)

Congratulations to the first five! I, for one, think it's a great idea to release the list of those who made it this far. Crossing my fingers that my name appears sometime this week! I also know that, whether or not I win, I'll be buying a copy, just to see what it took to make it in. Hopefully everyone else will do the same, so that would be 1700 copies sold!

What sort of time will each days shortlist be posted? Or will you keep the times random to mess with our heads  ;)

Somone already said this, but - this is going to be a wonderfully stressful 'what if' kind of week.
