Well, if this year's cover is guns and dragons, there should be another theme for next year. ;)
I actually had the same thought when I saw the cover reveal :)

I suppose there could be different types of guns and different types of dragons, or maybe the dragon would be wielding the guns (why would a dragon need guns? I have no fluffing clue. But I bet someone could write a story and make it awesome)

I know you did, but I figure if we say it enough they'll do it.

Challenge accepted. ;D

I like the idea of Pirates. WAIT! Lor, I have an idea. PM you.

How about just "Outlaws". Then it doesn't necessarily have to be pirates if people would rather not write a pirate story. (Gasp!) It would allow for loads of cool stories.

You do realise Lor's going to wash your mouth out for that heresy, don't you?

I love this image you lot seem to have of me ;) But yes, you now must eat soap for talking trash against pirates, and you're demoted below Lionwalker for a week.

I like the "Outlaws" idea though; so much scope, and it'll be nice to see things from the "bad guy's" p.o.v. for a change. There's a really good little short in the Pandemonium Stocking Filler 2011 (which I think you might just about still be able to get, it's an e-book), by Osgood Vance, which has the female villains complaining about how they're never taken seriously, and it is rather amusing. More stories like that wouldn't go amiss.

You like my idea, and yet I get punished for it!

And where did I talk "trash" about pirates?

I was joking! Suck it up, buttercup ;)

And as if I would demote you below Lionwalker! What kind of captain do you take me for?

If we do do Outlaws, I want to see someone send-up the bankers. Villains if ever I saw them.

I'd write one about lawyers. Speaking as someone from a family of lawyers, I can testify that they are villains indeed. xD

All this talk of outlaws, pirates, dragons has got me thinking.

Outlaws/pirates + dragons + steampunk = a world where airships are the main mode of transport and pirates ride dragons to raid the shipping lines.

To have an idea is not enough - no matter how good the idea is.

I like Outlaws :) It's general enough it leaves a very large range of possibilities. Plus, outlaws are always fun :)

I guess pirates are a subset of outlaws. It is true that outlaws has a wide scope, plus they seem to be popular with fantasy writers.
