So... If it's going to happen I guess it's good to start writing about it right? Just wondering how many words as a maximum for entering the competition on that anthology?

Which is exactly why it's not a great idea to start it right now. I think the last one was 5K, but don't quote me on it. Been almost three years so I'm unreliable.

Quoted.  8)

Very unreliable. I just looked through some of the old threads, and according to this post it was 8k.  :P

Both answers are helpful. I can craft a beat sheet for a 5kish story until some more details come out.

I work really slowly so any rough idea of word count would be great.

It's gratifying to see so much stuff being written and read on this site, as a newcomer it makes me want to put fingers to keyboard, which is great.

I love the idea for the anthology, I'm guessing it's just submit and cross fingers like the monthly comps right? I'm guessing nobody has a clear idea when or where we submit stuff...?

I think I may have to add this to my list of distractions from my day hustle (3 Kids. 2 jobs. 1 course.)

Edit 5 mins later: Arrgghhh! Not now brain! I'm at work.... Stop throwing ideas up and making me stare out of the window.

Still very much hoping that this is going to happen someday.

Nice! We're thinking about starting ours too. Everything else we've tried writing in the last couple of months has been a disaster, so what's the worst that could happen?  :P

doooo eeeet!

i'm doubling it up for a clarion application.  so, even if it never happens, it's still useful.

We'll see - have to work out an actual story first!

That's cool, wish there were things like that around here. Grumblegrumbleamericansgrumble.

Yay, I have no inspiration whatsoever because my brain sorts of freezes in a western with dragons for horses and refuses to get away from that obvious genre, but I wanna work on it as well!! Imagine actually getting published! What a theme to break the published world!

Is it weird that, up until a couple of days ago, that was exactly my problem as well? Seriously, when I hear this topic my brain automatically jumps to 'Dragon Western' and I just can't get that premise out of my head.

Luckily, I think I've got a nice concept for a story now. In a shocking change of pace for me, it may be a little bit comedic. I know, I know. I'm so rarely known for these things.  :P
