Sounds very interesting. Is the theme confirmed and we can start pooling ideas or is this not happening? I'm a bit confused.

Yeah I don't really have a clue how it works either to be honest. Sounds interesting though, and after due consideration I've decided I like the theme  :P

I wonder what @Overlord considers "very early in 2015"... April, anyone?

This one hurts it's so funny.

The one thing you're going to learn is to never trust a deadline/date Overlord posts. He's incredibly busy, but I'm extremely confident the theme is confirmed, even if it was half a year ago.

But as for this happening this year, who knows? His slated projects already are THIS, a Fanfics (Fantasy Fiction) Tab, a Writing Group, getting ready for Grim Gathering, a Genre Award which is mostly likely another year off (five year anniversary anyone?), a Podcast, and a Youtube channel. Yeah. And that's just the stuff I remember him talking about.

Don't forget the Fantasy Faction Theme Park! Apparently he has bought some prime real estate in Florida!

I have loads of ideas - like most people.

If fantasy-faction was my job and I could work on it full time I would be able to do them all. Sadly I have a full time job in addition to being a student, volunteering 5 nights a week at a martial arts gym, my own training, reading and writing, and happily a girlfriend and a bearded dragon.

I'm sorry that I let people down but it isn't due to not trying. It is down to other demands on my time. Every spare moment I am working on this site and trying to make this (free) resource the best it can be for you guys.

I am ambitious with it and set myself tough deadlines (which, as correctly identified, I struggle with) because I never want the site to get stale and slowly but surely things do get done. Set the bar for the stars and if you reach the moon you haven't done too badly. The Podcast and second anthology will be this year - you are right about the awards :-)

Apologies if my post came across as a complaint - it wasn't meant as one, was just trying to make a joke. I think you guys do an excellent job with the site, there's a ton of different stuff going on and it's by far the best community I've been able to find in years.

From my perspective it doesn't feel like a let down at all, if this did happen it'd be great but if not then it's not a problem. And I don't see why anyone would have a problem if it takes a while before everyone involved has the time available. I know what projects like this (and the site as a whole) can be like, and it's always more important to keep your priorities straight. :)

I didn't take it as badly as that post may have made it feel - I'm typing on my phone.

Just trying to explain that I do have good intentions, honestly.

Cool - it can be frustrating when it feels like people don't appreciate the effort you put in to something that you give them for free, just wanted to make sure you didn't get that impression from me :)

Hurrah for Marc :D

I have a full time job in addition to being a student, volunteering 5 nights a week at a martial arts gym, my own training, reading and writing, and happily a girlfriend and a bearded dragon.
I take my virtual hat off to anyone who has a normal job AND is studying at the same time - I could never do that.
And I'm probably around a lot both as a mind-break during said job, and because I have neither a girlfriend nor a dragon - do they take the same amount of attention time, then? ;D

Yeah, I have a part-time and it's killer. Marc's an amazing guy to do what he does with this website and everything that goes along with it, let alone living a healthy social life. But I have to tell ya, there's a reason the Book Club and the Monthly Writing Contest do so well: Delegation.

Which is why I vote Gariath to oversee construction. :)
