Guns and Dragons… It's a-comin'
« on: August 17, 2014, 05:36:24 PM »
We were reluctant to announce this until the current anthology was finished, but as we've been asked quite a few times now and wanted to let you all know that the next writing contest will start very early in 2015. The aim is to get the anthology out the same year this time; we've already invited a number of slush readers and such to make this viable.

The theme we are most keen on is 'Guns and Dragons'. I think this invites some pretty cool Sci-Fi/Fantasy crossovers, some post-apocalypic tales, epic fantasy with inventive ways of including believably guns, Urban Fantasy, Steam-Punk and so-so much more.

More details will become available over the next few months, but, basically, watch this space! ^_^

This is amazing news. I'm actually a little excited (and confident in my abilities this time around).

Well this should be fun.  I missed the deadline last time, so it'll be good to get a chance.

No idea what's going on here.

Hopefully they are not doing Entry Plus this time. It's a nice idea but a hell of a lot of extra work for them which undoubtly caused all the delays last time.  I d suggest submitting your story this time. Fingers crossed it gets accepted. But if it doesn't post it in the writer's corner and get feedback from the community.

Yes! As much fun as it was to help people with their stories, we are NEVER doing Entry Plus again. XD We will have more details on the timeline when we officially open for submissions, but it should be much less than a year from start to finish. :) Now that we have everything set up with copyeditors, cover art, and printers, it will just be a matter of picking the winners and putting the book together. :)

You live and learn. For sure a lovely idea but unrealistic when you have a full time family/ job on the side! Good luck to all participants!

Ooh, I'd love to contribute to this. I just joined today, so I missed the first anthology, but maybe I'll get to join this one. Love the theme.

Exactly, sir! If it wasn't for entry plus we'd have published the anthology in early 2013, not August 2014!!! :P

Hi!  I will happily "watch this space" for more details.

But, do you know the general word limit for submissions?

Thanks!

I wonder what @Overlord considers "very early in 2015"... April, anyone?
