I'm just about the start reading volume 1 of Constantine: The Hellblazer.
Now, I am a huge fan of the original Hellblazer series by Vertigo. I have it all. I tried the Constantine reboot sticking him into the DC universe properly and it was watered down beyond all but lip service. Awful. This new series has been recommended to me as more like the originals, so we shall see.

Is this any good?  We have a couple volumes where I work, but I haven't wanted to touch them because I was so disappointed by the end few volumes of original Hellblazer, and just disgusted by Justice League Dark and the like...  Sure the old times can't come back, but when even John Constantine is transmuted into schlock, what's the point in continuing?

Meanwhile in comics, I recently finished Exlibrium by Natalya Devova (interesting ideas -- wizards who track down rogue literary characters -- but a mediocre translation), Welcome Back v.1 by Christopher Sebela (again, interesting -- constantly reincarnating destined-enemy assassins, IN LOVE! -- but I don't know if I'm hooked), and The Witcher: House of Glass, by Paul Tobin, which despite never having played The Witcher, I really enjoyed.

Missed this. Constantine: The Hellblazer is a return to form. Devious and nasty John is back. Shame it's only 2 volumes.

Finally read Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Dave McKean.  One of those graphic novels that you need to read twice to appreciate and read the script by Grant Morrison. I love Dave McKean's illustrations, he is a unique talent.

Then my first proper fantasy read in a while. The first two volumes of Geis by Alexis Deacon.  Thoroughly recommend to all fantasy fans - even if you don't usually read comics.  A chief matriarch dies leaving no heir and a contest begins to decide the new ruler. Except the matriarch has made a deal with an evil sorceress that uses death magic and all 50 claimants now are bound by geis into a contest where the sorceress will claim all their lives except the winner. It is set in a beautiful fantasy world with some awesome characters and concepts.

Summer 2000AD binge. Read a couple of recent comic - Dredd v Space Pirate Apes, their Summer Special (all female writers and artists), Batman V Dredd (would be a great low budget R rated movie for both of them) and now onto Slaine: Book of Invasions. (drawn by the incomparable Clint Langley.)

I started Yu-Gi-Oh last week since I watched it as a kid and was always bothered how the anime NEVER followed any rules, the beginning was much darker, yugi and joey at least killed 2 people, than when the duel monsters part started I felt like reading and couldn´t believe it, the author is so inconsistent, in the same 20 page chapter where he explained the rules for the 3rd time, he made so So SO many mistakes, like people taking 3 turns at once, never attacking directly, overall tactical nonsense, yugi should´ve lost the first duel in the first tournament according to the rules. I discarded it imideatly because it´s even worse and more illogical and inconsistent than the anime ever was. Now I want to focus again more on books. again
Truly, if there is evil in this world, it lies within the heart of mankind.

Illegal by Eoin Coifer. Very powerful graphic novel about people travelling across Africa to get to Europe to find a better life. Teaches you alot about the horrendous humanitarian crisis which is still going on.

Sabrina by Nick Drnaso.  A very worthy nomination for the Booker Prize, and a very powerful read.  Highly recommended, and I hope it wins and gains more recognition for Graphic Novels.

I've just finished Wytches by Scott Snyder and Jock. Creepy and disturbing, and best of all it makes me think back to my own childhood adventures in the woods.

Not actually comics books, but I found some great fantasy webtoons that are really quite amazing reads (some even have decent worldbuilding, which is pretty rare comics-wise)

Tower of God (fantasy in a unique world): https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/tower-of-god/list?title_no=95&page=1

unOrdinary (Superhero-ish): https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/unordinary/list?title_no=679

Dice (Powers, battle royale): https://www.webtoons.com/en/fantasy/dice/list?title_no=64
