Just got back from watching the film with a few friends tonight. I thought it was okay. It's no masterpiece, but it's nowhere near as bad as some reviews said it would be. Overall I definitely enjoyed it.

I'd be interested to hear anyone's else's thoughts on the film, or how accurate the reviews turned out to be.

Spidey was my jam when I was young and comic-book reading age. I was big into the Venom and Carnage storylines.

I just couldn't conceive of a Venom without a Spiderman since he basically got the suit from Spiderman. So I couldn't bring myself to watch it.  And with all the ways they've sort of mutilated Spiderman's ethical core in this latest incarnation... idk... I'm just sort of done with superhero movies at this point.

I've finally watched the movie the other day, and hell it was much better than I thought it would be. Venom is such a hilarious partner, and I love the chemistry between him and Eddie. I'm definitely digging in for the sequel. ;D

I was pleased with it for the most part. I always hear people talking about movies bombing but find when I watch them I don't end up regretting it. Venom was one of those.
