I thought the same about the name.
It means something like a compilation of fighting styles to create a unique style of samurai combat (but don't quote me on that, that's a rough definition I think)

And... I didn't even realise there was a Ghost anime!

I concur with Zael. I read the manga version of it as well, and the writer/mangaka explained why he called it Champloo. Apparently, even in Japan it's not all that well known. It's rather fitting, though, considering the fighting styles of the characters.
Oh, I have a blog. http://dullboredom.wordpress.com/

Check it out, if you've got the time. Much appreciated.

Spoiler for Hiden:
Till the original L died. Well, there is always Gintama if you are looking for laughs.

Its more science fiction than fantasy, though.  My favourite mangas

        naruto
        code breaker
        fairy tail
        D gray man
        FMA
        Beelzebub
        Ao no exorcist
        Psyren
        Kuroshitsuji

Hmm, now that's an interesting question.   Let's see here,   One Piece, Samurai 7, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Last Exile,  Baccano!, Darker Than Black, Black Lagoon and Pumpkin Scissors are what I can think of off the top of my head.

Don't lose hope, Wilder.
It's done in a way where A - you won't expect it, B - You'll be so excited/tense/anxious anyway you won't know it
Plus, there are more reasons to watch the series, and that bit isn't really that major :)

Okay.

1- Legend of the Overfiend
2- La Blue Girl... wait, wrong list.

Ahem.

ANIME

1- Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still (Retro-Steampunk style giant robots meets Hong Kong Wuxia Movies!)
2- Captain Harlock: Arcadia of my Youth
3- Mobile Suit Gundam (most of the franchise, but especially Victory Gundam and Turn A Gundam)
4- Armoured Troopers VOTOMS
5- Slayers
6- Cowboy Bebop
7- Tengen Toppen Gurren Lagann
8- Space Battleship Yamato
9- Neon Genesis Evangelion
10- Castle of Cagliostro

Honourable Anime Mentions

1- Robotech
2- Gatchaman/ Battle of the Planets
3- Record of Lodoss War
4- 3x3 Eyes
5- Galaxy Express 999

MANGA

1- AKIRA
2- Great Teacher Onizuka
3- 20th Century Boys
4- Monster
5- Maison Ikkoku (yes, it's a slice of life romantic comedy, but damn, I love it)

My wife wants me to check out the manga for Fairy Tail and I'm slowly planning on going through Berserk and Full-Metal Alchemist. Currently reading 07 Ghost after the review on this very site.
I'd like to say I'm a writer, but that would occasionally require product. As it stands, I'm just a dreamer with a big mouth and poor time management.

Not really a Captain, I bought the rank used off eBay.

I started reading The Arms Peddler today and it's quite good, a mix of Fist of the North Star and Berserk. The plot is a bit formulaic, and the characters a bit archetypal, but the setting is really cool and the art is fantastic.

I mentioned it in the currently watching thread but I heartily recommend you keep an eye out for Psycho Pass, it's absolutely amazing and only just finished airing!

As little kid growing up i got showered with manga series from a friend. I never followed his recommandations so i never saw Naruto and whatever series he adviced.
But what i did see, because it was on the television just after school and before mommy got the food ready, i abolutely loved and looked forward to everyday. It was called Gundam Wing with Relena Peacecraft.
Then i loved Ghost in a shell and Akira. And i recently saw a animated movie at the television called Death Space. Wasnt manga i guess but very good.

I just finished The Breaker and Holyland. Two great (and very different) martial arts manga.
