Title: Tales From The Loop
Post by: Cherie on March 02, 2020, 09:07:36 PM
A new series by Amazon, based on the concept and artwork of Simon Stalenhag. I had no idea this was in production! https://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2020/03/the-tales-from-the-loop-trailer-has-all-the-sci-fi-and-whimsy-you-could-want/ the cinematography looks to be very much in keeping with Stalenhag style of art and photography, so it'll be very interesting to see the final result.

I have a copy of The Electric State by Stalenhag, and his other two books on my wishlist.

Also the pen-and-paper RPG by The Free League. Which is awesome by the way.

I actually gave up on this show. The acting, writing and production were on point, but I think it was just a subjective thing for me. I just didn't like the direction the story was going.

I didn't know there was a pen-and-paper RPG. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.

I thoroughly enjoyed the TV series and hope there is more. I can see that it's not for everyone though. The narrative is quite tangled, the pacing is slow, and some of the payoff is far down the line as the stories begin to connect (though I enjoyed them individually as well). But it suited me perfectly, like a mix between Stranger things and Fargo.
