I voted for "What's that" but it's showing on the "I sniffed" option.

Strange thing indeed...

I honestly thought she was the weakest link acting-wise. Mostly because the kids were SO good.

I am actually obsessed with Stranger Things, best thing on Netflix imo.

I didn't cry. However, I did thoroughly enjoy Winona's performance. I think she was awesome.

I didn't cry either. It sucked, but I wasn't emotionally engaged enough with her character to shed tears, nor was it awful enough to warrant sadness. I've seen too many things with that type of ending.

The whole cast esp. the kids were pretty amazing, but Winona's character really struck a chord with me.

The whole being so overwhelmed by keeping yourself above water financially that you lose the most important things, and the sense of guilt and desperation... It was really powerful.  In a lot of ways she was the most isolated and vulnerable character (other than Will), everyone else had friends of some sort, she was just utterly alone esp in the first episodes. She made me think of my mother.  Plus she makes a good crazy-woman face.

Idk, I really felt for her.

The kids were pretty amazing too.

I was trying to tell a friend who's into fantasy about the show, and it occurs to me that I don't know how to describe it really.  It's got elements of so many things mixed in, but it's not really any one of them.

(this is the same problem I have when thinking about how to sum up a book I've written for marketing or contacting agents...)

Thought the show was amazing, well thought out and well scripted. The acting was fantastic and consistently strong and it was gripping. I watched the season in about 3 sittings.

Like all made for TV that is thought provoking and a cut above the rest it has not yet been renewed for season 2

@Bradley Darewood My bf described it as an 80's kids cream dream.   We are 80's kids and it reminded us of a mash-up of movies of our childhood. We loved hunting for things we had as kids in the series.

I loved Winona in Stranger Things, I loved everyone in that show and everything about it. Winona probably struck more of a chord with me, because I first remembered seeing her in Beetlejuice and was hooked on her for a few years after that. Rather like how I love seeing Marisa Tomei as Aunt May in Civil War.
