Is anyone playing this game?  I am thinking of picking it up Friday and was wondering what peoples thoughts of it were.

Am I playing? HELL YES!

Loving it so far. Playing a female smuggler (me and Corso, we're like that *crosses fingers*) and a Sith Inquisitor (so much fun being bad :D Especially when often your third conversation option is 'shock them' )

Obviously it's still new and there are a few issues, but there's some great touches. I especially liek the way the conversations make you feel like the hero of your story (as opposed to wow for example). Instances, where you each make a bid to be the one to answer are fun too - especially if like me you run one with your not light, not dark smuggler, along with a  goody two shoes Jedi (well except when he's porking, Bad Jedi, Bad Jedi!) and an evil as they come smuggler. You never know who's going to win and answer....and it changes the whole story.

Story lines are very nicely done.

All in all...time sink like you would not believe.

That is exactly what I wanted to hear.  So you are playing a smuggler?  what would that compare to if playing wow?  what do you think of the inquisitor sorcerer?

The smuggler's a rogue type - you can go stealth or all out (all out is me :D ) but you can opt for a healer build too (can with most /all classes iirc) Your second companion is a healer too.

The inquisitor is a blast, literally - quite similar to my destro 'lock from wow. Shocking people cos they pee you off is fun!

But I cannot emphasise enough that what makes this great is the way the storyline involves you in a way that WOW's never did for me - your choices in conversations can alter your whole storyline. You ARE part of the story.

Now 'scuse me, I have to go kill the bleep that stole my ship. And maybe flirt with Corso some more :D

So I am officially a member of the Sith Empire.  I now have a level 21 Sith Sorcerer, and LOVE this game.  Its like a gigantic version of Mass Effect with a Star Wars theme.  I ran a few flashpoints ("instances") and they are challenging unlike most new mmo's that come out, and I also ran a few battleground pvp bouts, and find those lacking.  I hate not being able to move and cast as a long range.  I however am making a warrior juggernaut to tank with and hope that i can also roll faces in pvp with him too.

If you decide to play, I am on server Vrook Lamar with a toon named Arjei.

This game sounds awesome.  As soon as I can scrape the money together, I will get a one-month subscription.

Does anybody else on Fantasy Faction play TOR?

I had to cancel my subscription just because it was a little too expensive for how much I was playing it, unfortunately. It was fun, I just didn't play it $15+Tax much a month.

I just don't think subscription based MMOs are my cup of tea any more.

/waits for Guild Wars 2!

Hmm is there any stories that shed light on
Spoiler for Hiden:
Revan?

I kind of want to buy it, but I like my Xbox too much, and I'm half afraid the storyline has suffered.

If you're afraid of the storyline, don't be. Leveling from 1-50 is better than any MMO out there due to the amazing writing/voice acting/personal storyline.

After that it sort of fizzles out, why they lost 400K subscribers.

I was playing a Sith Inquisitor/Assassin, and I've encountered Revan-related quests several times. There's a whole cult devoted to him in the game.

I play when I can. I play a bounty hunter mostly. I have him to 42. This is the best story line I have seen so far. I also play a Jedi Knight Guardian and a smuggler. Jedi is at 38, and smuggler is at 10. This game is great. I plan to play all the characters, saving troopers for last. I have friends that play as well. It seems that they love the trooper class...can't wait to try it out!

Hehehehe oh yes, yes indeed. More than one. And about the Jedi Exile. And ofc HK47 possibly turns up...

Storytelling is very good, as with pretty much every Bioware game I've played. Me and a guildy keep teasing another because his Sith hasn't reached the *holy hell!* moment and we won't tell him what it is....

Annoyed; I thought this thread was going to be about the old Bioware games.

Query: You're still enjoying it though?

I've been waiting to play this game for ages now but i'm still saving for my new pc, hopefully this week or next week then finally i'll get to play it. It sounds so good. Just going to concentrate on a Jedi Shadow and kill all the Sith I can. ;D
I saw them on the shores
the deepening pits of their gaze
vowed immortal war
against the sighing calm
of Jaghut seas . . .
