Last of Us television show hires director of Chernobyl

HBO's upcoming Last of Us TV series has been coming together quickly as of late. The beloved video game is being turned into a live-action series, and it's now landed Johan Renck for the pilot.

Chernobyl's Emmy-winning director will be helming the pilot episode for HBO, according to The Hollywood Reporter. His previous directing credits include episodes of Breaking Bad, Vikings, The Walking Dead, and David Bowie's music videos for "Lazarus" and "Blackstar"--arguably two of Bowie's best throughout his career

Interested and curious to see how it pans out, especially with the controversy surrounding The Last of Us 2.

I think the premise is good and this could be great TV. I have no real expectations only kn owing the outline of the game, so unlike the adaption of a book I am probably a lot more open to this. I have a soft spot for dystopian futures.
