I'm pretty tired of all these rehashes of the same myths/ legends. King Author mythos have been done to the death in almost every form/ version available to mankind, couldn't they come up with something more original?
I don't know. I'm more optimistic, I guess. Every time something Arthurian is released I watch it because, hey!, its quintessential fantasy. Granted I keep my expectations low, but sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised. Aside from the horrible costuming, Knight's Tale wasn't such a bad movie.
I just watched the trailer for this yesterday, and I'm actually pretty hyped. My favorite Skarsgard brother is definitely Gustaf... I love you Floki..., he will make a perfect Merlin, and Katherine Langford looked stunning in the trailer. With this cast, I'm looking forward to a new take on the old theme.
I think a lot people get stuck in visualizing the T.H. White interpretation, so it can be challenging to see or read different interpretations. I would like to see a more feminist perspective, as long as it doesn't speak louder than the story. The Lady of the Lake, man! How cool is that!? Hopefully it's as well written as the production seems to be.
