Carnival row poll

I just thought it was okay and nothing special. I thought I love it but it just didn’t work for me.

I got the impression that people on the forum were underwhelmed by Carnival Row  and I want to see if I’ve got that wrong.

Yeah it's average at best. I was really hyped when I see that Olando Bloom is starring in this, and that it seemed like an original fantasy, but overall it's actually quite boring. Kinda like one of those droll British shows like Downtown Abbey but with fantasy elements.

I was disappointed. They tried to polish a turd there and it shows. The visual aspects and stars do not cover for bad plot and storytelling.

I was interested when I first heard about it, but the adverts then mad it look more romance-focused, so I never got around to watching.

I didn't really watch a lot of it, didn't really do it for me, though I did read an article saying that it would have been better if they'd revealed the heritage of Orlando Bloom's character from the beginning instead of waiting a few episodes. A lot of the scenes, in their opinion, would have made more sense or had a stronger sense of tension if the audience knew.
